My system is unstable after updating to the new Bios too, more often BSOD while playing games or multitasking (downloading Steam games while browsing)

Specs: i7-8750H, GTX1060, 2x8GB RAM, 256 GB NVME SSD

Possible to revert to old bios ?

Ran the Windows Memory Diagnostics and it showed no errors, took a while to complete though.

Tried to check more details of the RAM model with CPU-Z, but it cannot show any details about my RAM haha. Don't know the make or brand of my RAM. (Mine are the illegear stock sticks)

Did u tried memtest?

For those facing the bsod problem, did u guys contact illegear about the problem already? Not sure need to send back the laptop for checking or not now, worry that it might just be driver issue which can be fix easily.

Will try when I got a thumbdrive to do so, have you?

I am hoping it is fixable remotely or via updates, not convenient to send back to Illegear for me at the moment.

---

When updating the BIOS though at the last step when updating the OEM Service thing, I have a lot of UAC prompts while doing that, don't know if that's normal or not

Yup tested with memtest but no error rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Hi guys, what's the usual temperature while gaming? Suspect that the bsod is related to overheating while gaming.

Beside windows update, kindly update Nvidia, Intel graphics/chipset drivers as well.
Not the temperature definitely, the recent BSOD is caused by the old firmware of SSD, you may send in your laptop and we will assist to update the firmware.

I'm using the 512GB Samsung PM981, is it affected as well?

We call it Cap 2. It's the latest keycap and it's available for vendors who release the model later. ILLEGEAR is the first to receive ONYX stock so we only have Cap 1 in current ID. Some markets prefer cap 1 and some markets prefer cap 2. We will have the option to choose which kepcap to use in the next refresh.
We can honor the 180 day dead pixel policy after upgrading to 144Hz display, we will not penalize our early ONYX supporters.

How much is the upgrade from 60 hz to 144 hz for existing owner?

Asus/MSI/Clevo tipped bricks seem to fit and work well, to be specific ones with 5.5*2.5 mm barrel connectors.

Myself I have been using 1 Asus ADP-180MB F and 2 Lite-On ADP-180MB K (which I suspect might just be the same bloody Delta thing inside, which isn't too bad as Delta make pretty good PSUs) with zero issues so far. And yes, I kid you not when I once said I had a small army of the things lol.

Also Clevo specced Chicony 180w adapters should work too, but are usually pricey for some unknown reason (compared to the Deltas). Similarly Razer units, which are even more expensive.

HI bro, Can share where to buy these adaptor?

Hi guys, just an update here regarding the problem. I had sent the laptop back for warranty and it turns out that the error was due to a faulty ram. The problem is solved now after they replace the ram. Overall great experience as the whole process is pretty fast, it just takes them 3 days to identify and fix it. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I'm eyeing on the new Onyx

with 9750H and 2070 Max-Q.

Not sure if the heat management is alright? For those who has been using this laptop for a year, do you like this notebook?

Any serious unsolved issue?

I would appreciate any realistic comment. Thank you.
*
No serious issue so far, my only complaint would be the super loud fan noise
