my persona got this same issue too, its like her "period" time, one month sure got 1 time or few time crank longer than usual to start the engine

Any idea why reason behind it? My idea, if not the battery reason, sure the starter motor not functioning 100% well. Else the fuel pump reason?

same. i got mine used so i not sure of its history, but around once a week will have this issue. making me nervous to drive outbound on weekends or at night.

I thought they would have take a more serious look into this issue as this issue had been running wild and free for the past few years and this model was still being in production at least until late 2024. I decided to get Iriz knowing about its CVT issue beforehand but this problem caught me by surprise

I was initially planning to get a Toyota Yaris. After reading and watching review about Proton iriz in the internet, I thought I can look past its cons for saving a significant amount of money and better driving dynamic. I did not read about engine ignition issue so I was not expecting it. As long as this issue does not cause more serious consequence to the car, I will just live with it at least for the next 5 years.

Glenmarie. I got my car from that branch so I just sent back to the same branch even though it is inconvenient to me. I should have sent to a service centre which is much more convenient to me.

I can live with it if it is just merely require additional 1-2 attempts to start the engine. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Nope...happens on my first gen 1.6E as well...normally I just pump the accelerator and it will start...

My other idea is the dirty throttle body. Sometimes after spray the throttle body cleaner at the body, where I spray half a can on it, when it is still wet with the cleaner, its make the starter slower/need to press accelerator pedal a bit during that time, due to wet condition inside throttle body with cleaner. Then after all the cleaner is dried up/push through it, the starting of my car will be a lot smoother. This for my other car with 244k km and another on Viva Elite at 300k km mileage. Both same feedback

My thought the cupid is the proton cheap copper spark plug with poor anti fouling ability. Perodua or toyota new car default already gives u denso iridium so no hard start problem with push start.

I think even iridium can't fix this...

Just got a used Iriz for my kid. I want to ask. Is it possible to change the reverse camera only? Because it really sucks and not clear. Does changing a better reverse camera possible or actually improves?

I try not to change a new HU if not required....already spent too much money.

I believe can, to save yourself from try and error, please send car to reputable car accessories shop, they can advice which type of reverse camera can upgrade the camera quality + installation. Cons, slightly premium price of the parts if u compare to Shopee. BTW what year is your Iriz, 1.3 or 1.6?

1.6 Executive, Final facelift version. Yeah, i have done some survey on FB and asked a few shops. I think price no difference than i buy own parts, so better go shop sekali kaw tim. Now maybe want to change HU as well, if under RM1k can consider. At least can use Waze which is important, also i find the Iriz HU is like totally cannot see under bright sun. 😅

Sorry lack of knowledge for aftermarket HU, but best to try it at the shop for responsiveness of the HU, depends on processor it used and RAM offered.

Any fist gen 1.6L owner here changed or replaced original bumper or side skirts? Can recommend shop please? Thanks.
