Great list. Now can this be stickied to the first page? biggrin.gif

Actually only one card I know has the e-debit facility via BANKCARD/MEPS most efficient usage and that would be the current Maybankard ATM.

The thing is the enforcement of e-debit nationwide for merchants is slow compared to another country say Australia (where their e-debit facility a.k.a EFTPOS [Electronic Funds Transfer At Point Of Sale] is 60% effective and that covers a lot of merchants/retailers).

So having a VISA or a MasterCard logo slapped onto the ATM cards is a significant boon for consumer bankers. Good for Maybank to further advance the trend and hopefully other banks will follow suit.

PS: RHB has a Prepaid MasterCard of its own too. Its called RHB e-Cash Plus Prepaid MasterCard.

Never use my debit card too.
I think its not as convenient as credit card and has risk also.

of course there are risks, but not as damaging as credit cards.

let assume that your credit card limit is rm20k, your debit left rm2k.

and one day, you lost both of your credit and debit card. the thief uses both of them till the limit, you lost 20k for the credit card, 2k for the debit card.

now tell me which has more critical damage to you in term of finance?

^^ May I further add on that the debit facility is more cash controlled than a credit card; where the propensity to further spend is fueled by the spend now pay later mentality.

And individuals without the proper self control will go overboard with their credit card spending. Thus all the bad debts accumulated till they are overwhelmed.

You got a point. I downgraded some cards credit limits and just bring out low-end/ classic/ normal card rather than high-end/ platinum/ gold card for daily expenses, only carry and use high end card for special function/ travel purposes.

dude, there is a law from BNM that u only need to pay maximum up to RM250 for fraud use of credit card. wheres if your 2k in debit card is used up good luck asking the bank to refund you.

I'll go for Maybank Visa Debit since it has no annual fee and it's a truly Visa.
