Just curious, have anyone managed to use your debit card in Shanghai & Beijing? Thought of applying one before leaving for China in April.

Maybank introducing the New Maybankard Visa Debit. In my personal opinion, I would say this is the best debit card. No annual fee but the design of the card is . You just need to open a saving or current account to get this card for free. But for existing saving or current account holder, need to pay RM12 to change Maybankard ATM card to this Maybank Visa Debit.


What is Maybankard Visa Debit?
Maybankard Visa Debit is an enhanced ATM (Automated Teller Machine) card. It can be used to withdraw cash from ATMs, and at the same time function like a credit card. It can be used to make purchases at merchant locations such as petrol stations, grocery stores, retail stores and restaurants, including overseas merchants and even on the Internet. When Maybankard Visa Debit is used to make purchases or cash withdrawals at ATMs, funds are deducted from the customer account, directly accessing the money in the customers?deposit accounts.

How and where to get the Maybankard Visa Debit?
1. Visit Maybank branch nearest to you
2. Fill up the application form and choose Maybankard Visa Debit when you open a Current or Savings Account
3. Existing Current and Savings Account customer can apply for Maybankard Visa Debit

are the benefits really good? went to check out the benefits. only got treats points.
i'd better stick to my PBVE. at least got some cash-back benefits

open new account no charge. valid up to 7 years before they renew for u. no charge as well i believe. but before 7 years u lost the card or card damaged by your own fault - RM12 charge for replacement.

for existing yellow-black mbb atm cardholder, hv to pay RM12 for a replacement.

If it's a real Visa, what's the difference from a Visa Credit Card? Except that it's deducting directly from your saving/current accout. Does it work on a Visa (not Visa Electron) terminal as well?

Can the new Maybank visa Debit card be accepted by Paypal? If yes I'm gonna ditch my PBVE for this. RM12 is okay for me compared to RM24 p.a. for PBVE.

Hmmm suddenly some out this Maybank Visa Debit card when I almost apply for Maybank Petronas Credit card... which should I go for...

But 1 thing I notice is that the Maybank Debit Card will direct deduct money from your savings? Not separately like PBVE? Like this means if my card is stolen, all money in my savings is at stake right?

btw, if im not wrong, closing account will be charges. RM10 something i thinks.
what people normally do when wan to close the account is they withdraw all the money left RM1 inside the account.
in-active for 1 year account will be automatic close without charges.

RM12 for one time replacement of card for existing card holder is hardly can be accepted le.
but it's the enhanced ATM card.
will be go change it straight away, if there is FREE. too bad, it's not. have to waits for the surprise from Maybank.

btw, how the Visa Debit card works? like normal credit card? just swipe and sign tht's all?
or like the old Maybank ATM card, where we need to key in the 6-digit pin???

hmmm maybe its only me that feels rm12 for this debit card is worth (IF it can be accepted/verified by Paypal)
Cause my PBVE I also less use... every year they charge me RM24 I feel not worth also...

And is this already available? If yes I'm considering to change my ATM to this debit card soon... maybe with this debit card I can skip Maybank Petronas CC as well

As for your second question, I want to know too if we can use the debit card like normal cc...

im the existing Maybank card holder.
now hardly seldom use.
so it's un-necessary to spend RM12 just to change to new card.
will be just waiting for the waiver. hope there is in future.

i think maybank debit card accepted by paypal for sure.......no need to ask them, coz they accept visa debit or credit.......so, maybank visa automatically accepted by paypal......

well, i still satisfied with my tune money visa.......no hasstle....

i think from now on, all saving account from local bank, they will give visa or mastercard...

i just got my COMBI Debit MasterCard from eonbank...... can withdraw through MEPS/bankcard ATM network only charge normal rm1......eonbank atm free.....cirrus/mastercard network (oversea) charge rm10...

if like this then I think ITS possible to withdraw money from Paypal direct into your bank account right? credit into your visa = credit into your bank account?
