Do you mean the TP-Link Archer C7 or another Tenda model? There is no C7 for Tenda? If you mean the Unifi configuration for Tenda, it could be troublesome yes and you might need to tag the VLAN manually.


Yes. Should be okay but you need to go to 5Ghz usually to get the full speed of 50Mbps. The second link that I provided, which is the TP-Link, is only b/g/n and they do not have 5GHz AC which is what you want. There is 5GHz for N as well, but AC is better.

Go for the first link if you want, but keep in mind that Tenda could be hard to configure, you might need to tag the VLAN manually.

I mean the tp link Archer c7. UniFi for c7 also troublesome as well.

Nah bro. The TP-Link Archer C7 v4 setup is very simple. There is a preset mode you can select for Malaysia Unifi. It is definitely one level above the C1200 and very stable. I recommend it actually if you want to switch from the C1200.

I'm a subscriber of Unifi 30Mbps for RM139 and recently someone stole the cabling in apartment thus causing TM service outage for 2 weeks. I did call-up TM to clarified that someone stolen the cable and I requested TM to waive the charges since I cant use the internet at all. But TM replied is whatever inside the apartment is under building management, so if service interruption outside the building is under TM.

So is the statement true from the service personnel? Not I cant afford to pay but just I felt why should pay the service which I didnt use?

But is still a decent modem.

As for Tenda, it is fine and able to give me the full speed. Just that hard to configure.
To confirm again, hard to configure is referring to HyppTV setup only or even in setting up the connection with Unifi modem?

So, what else can this decoder do?

All network equipment from TM DP to Building Tele Room is TM responsibility.
All network equipment from Building Tele room to Unit network point is Building Management Responsibility.
All network equipment from Unit Network point is subscriber responsibility.

you should ask for compensation from your building management.

Yes, you got it. I meant that it can be hard in setting up the connection with Unifi as there have been many complaints on reviews you see posted on Lazada. Yes, I am aware that there are lot of complaints about it. But, seriously, you get what you pay for. If you want something good and stable, you have to pay to get it. No other ways around it.

Nothing else. TM pretty much locked it down. It can connect to the wireless and change the settings according to your TV, so 720p or 1080p 50Hz or 60Hz, but that's about it. How did you get it changed by the way? I thought they won't issue new unless rosak?

I was experiencing random reboots it but no way to reproduce the problem as it is random. So I just tell the technician that came to also consider that my decoder is very old already together with this random problem that I’m experiencing.
