ok . to confirm, in your opinion those budget (rm70) ones will be good enough ? thank you
*
Definitely a no if you planning to torrent, stream, or have multiple devices in your house. I don’t get your obsession with saving money on your router. It is the device that connects you to the Internet and something that you are going to use EVERYDAY. Think about it. If you want to buy the RM70rputer, go ahead. Just don’t complain if you don’t get the coverage or there are problems. Good luck.

QUOTE(z3r0h @ May 19 2018, 10:40 PM)
What are the current routers that TM gives for unifi installation nowadays? Is there a list?
*
Both crappy in my opinion, but the more stable one will be the D-Link DIR850L over the TP-Link C1200. The TP-Link is good, but there are stability issues with its firmware.

So I assume tp-link performs better then? Hmm..

QUOTE(nikrizal @ May 19 2018, 11:16 PM)
Between those two models, definitely TP-Link
*
I will also choose TP Link over D-Link cause its range is wayy better. My firmware is also quite stable so why not.

Approached an agent in one of the unifi booth yesterday. He mentioned that now cannot retain old landline as secondary line for RM1. Must either migrate the line to Unifi or pay RM25 monthly for the old line. Is that true? Also, what are the channels offering for HyppTv everywhere on Unifi lite now that TM made changes to their TV package?

It's confirm already. I ask 100 and the answer is that there is no such deal to keep existing line at RM1 now. Reason being that previously those who upgrade to Unifi cannot migrate their old number and must get a new number, hence they offer you to keep the old number for RM1. Now that any old number can migrate to Unifi, you either migrate or pay RM25 rental for the old number and get a new Unifi number.

Can, but contract renew. If you are willing to spend, get a better router and stay free of contract.

Has any1 tried extending 5Ghz network before?

Currently im bottlenecking my 2.4ghz network. I require to have a upstream of at least 100mbps for my other server for other purposes.

Pulling cable was not an option thou sad.gif

Hi, does anyone use a Linksys router here? I wonder if these routers support VLAN tagging for Unifi

I also use N12HP and I also experience quite a few disconnects in a week since last year. One time it lasted the whole night. I never counted the times but it was frustrating. You sure its BTU? If yes I would like them to have it replaced

i think it is neither btu nor router but tm.

speed slowing down, disconnects do happen, a few times year.

2-3 weeks ago, i had it for 2 nights in a row.

after that, all is good again.

Can call tm and make report to check the port for any problem. One time my office internet down, thought it was the btu (modem) but turns out the port kong. It was fixed pretty fast, about a day or two.

As for my case, after they change it to new one, the problem solve. And aksed them is it BTU problem? and the technician said yes sweat.gif . When you lodge a report, normally their real technical team will saw multiple disconnection and they will rectify it.
