How can one safely spoil the HyppTV box and make it look like a natural death? Been wanting to replace the very first gen HyppTV decoder to the latest one.

Don’t mind if he refuse to change but now there’s also a RM50 fee to pay, so better to have the device confirmed dead.

Basically some of your options are:

1) If still under warranty then call them and get it replaced.

2) If no longer under warranty, you can choose to get it replaced for free with a further contract extension.

3) Get a used unit, you can search around for it on lelong or mudah.

Can call to TM to ask them to update it.

The only equipment that is lifetime warranty is the BTU. All others are only 1 year warranty.

Any idea how to get 100mbps for RM149?

Finally got my first generation 7 years old decoder replaced with the newer Android powered model.

So, what else can this decoder do?

I was experiencing random reboots it but no way to reproduce the problem as it is random. So I just tell the technician that came to also consider that my decoder is very old already together with this random problem that I’m experiencing.

My Unifi 100mbps account transferred owner recently, the discount was not given, instead of RM189 it now became RM389.

Update 1: TM said when account transfer owner, any special promo discount won’t be carried over. Anyone experienced this before? However I was told by TMpoint that I will be paying exactly the same amount.

Update 2: Dropped by TMpoint, was asked to fill up a complaint form. They said from their side, they can only give up to RM150 discount, so to get the full RM200 discount they will need to refer back to their HQ.

No it is not by the period you are billed for. It is the date of the invoice instead. Only invoice issued and dated 1st June onwards will have GST at 0%.

I’ll let them investigate first as I’m hearing different stories from different CS representative. If they insist the discount won’t be carried over then I guess have to make another report to MCMC already.

Honestly, after being used to the broadband prices in Malaysia, I don’t mind if they do not pressure the providers to offer cheaper and faster plans.

What I hope that they can do is to remove any monopoly in the industry. When this is done, prices will come down eventually as a result of the providers being more competitive.

Are they paying old price? If paying old price, suggest to terminate and reapply, you’ll enjoy better price and all new equipments.

Which is why I asked, if still paying RM199 for 10mbps, better take up a new offer instead, definitely plenty of “promo” plans by TM throughout the year.

After many weeks are follow up, finally the discount amount is correct. However the duration for promo discount is still wrong, they have given me 24 months when it should be perpetual.

Problem is nobody seems to understand the issue, most of the CS says discount is correct already. I wonder should I continue to make complaint or let it be, since like most know another promo offer is likely to come within 2 years.

Pro might be upcoming 200/300mbps then.

Hopefully the existing Pro plan subscribers will get a bump in speed at no additional cost, or at least, realign all current 100mbps users to the new plan to reflect lower monthly fee.

It would still be fine if the user exceeds 60GB of usage, speed to be throttled at 10mbps. After all this cheaper plan are targeted for lower income bracket and also light users.
