Hi guys, not sure if anyone asked this question before, but if topup Wechat Pay with CIMB Lazada Prepaid card, can get any CB?

According to CIMB,
0.50% cash rebate up to RM25 each month on other spend
1% cash rebate up to RM25 each month on all Lazada spend

You test with RM10 and see if you get a rebate on 25/1 (check on 27/1).
Nobody reported the MCC for Wechatpay Malaysia yet.
If MCC 6012 (Bigpay - till Nov 2018), No 0.5% cashback for CIMB-Lazada Prepaid MC.

Waiting for new promotion leh, so boring without promo haha

They should also focus on expansion...

There were news mentioning that they will be looking for more partnership with merchants like Mynews and Giant, but nothing so far.

Not sure about the rest, I'm not keen on WeChat if they have no promotion or extra benefit. Even if they have 90% reach to all merchants, 99% uptime/stable and 99% seamless, the min they need is to at least match credit card benefits if not more.

Probably their target market is for those without credit card.

Sorry a little off topic guys, I just reactivated my dormant Wechat account and am trying to receive red packet/money transfer of RMB to my account so far to no avail. It's been prompting me to register a China bank card, but I've tried using local cards to link as I don't have a China card which I believe suppose to work.

Is it due to the identify verification thing (currently review in progress)?

This method is no longer working unfortunately... Nothing much can be done unless someone has other tips to share.
It was still working in November..

No service charge for banks and only for amounts up to RM5,000. For other participants, it could be free or there could be a fee depending on certain conditions that they need to meet.



I can confirm there is 0.5% cash rebate for topping up WeChat Pay.

Yes if yours is China wallet, else not possible with Malaysia wallet.
