QUOTE(rainbird @ Jun 5 2018, 06:35 PM) Need merchants to accept wechat pay. Can wechat pay when doing shopping in taobao? No you can't. Taobao needs AliPay, they are under the same company. WeChat Pay is the competitor for AliPay, so Taobao will not be allowed to use competitor product on their platform. I also cannot have Malaysia wallet, I already have China wallet which I do have a couple of transactions over there earlier. Logged out and logged in doesn't help.

For those able to switch to WeChat Pay Malaysia, may I know if you have tied your account with your mobile no.?
I don't tie to any mobile no., not sure if that affects.

QUOTE(David83 @ Jun 5 2018, 10:06 PM) My account is tied to mobile number. I don't think this is the issue. OK, then this is not the factor. I will wait till one fine day it comes to my account then.

QUOTE(ck_tonny @ Jun 5 2018, 10:07 PM) Yes i had my mobile number tied with wechat, and region in my profile set to Kuala Lumpur. Mine is always in Kuala Lumpur but doesn't help. David83 tied his mobile no. to WeChat account but cannot switch as well, so I don't think and hope that doesn't play a role. I'm not a fan of tying mobile no. to my WeChat. I actually registered my WeChat account when I was in China 5 years ago, I hope that doesn't affect.

QUOTE(kclamtarc @ Jun 5 2018, 10:10 PM) Yes, that is one of the reasons. try go to the 3 dots > FAQ > Account and Security > overview > "Why cant my friends see the WeChat Pay MY Wallet" I believe this set of FAQ can only be viewed after your Malaysia Wallet appears. QUOTE(ming86 @ Jun 5 2018, 10:15 PM) My WeChat account is tied to my mobile number. OK la. Then looks like I will need to tie. No effect to China Wallet right? To me priority is the China Wallet because I travel to China quite often and will require to use this wallet.

QUOTE(kclamtarc @ Jun 5 2018, 10:24 PM) oh, sorry about that. I copy and paste here: Why can’t my friend see the WeChat Pay MY Wallet? The WeChat Pay MY Wallet is available in WeChat 6.3.13 or above. Please tell your friend to update WeChat to the latest version. In addition, as required by Bank Negara Malaysia, the WeChat Pay MY Wallet is only available to WeChat users who registered with a Malaysian mobile number or those resident in Malaysia at the time of registration. If your friend has previously used the Weixin Wallet in China, he or she can try switching the Wallet region by tapping "Me" -> "Wallet" -> "..." (in the top right corner) -> "Switch Wallet Region", and selecting Malaysia. If your friend has done the above but still fails to see the WeChat Pay MY Wallet, please ask him or her to follow the WeChat Pay MY Official Account and select “Support" -> "Enable Wallet" to report the problem to us. Our customer service team will respond within two business days. You canTap and hold the following picture, then select "Follow" to follow the Official Account. Thanks for the information! Now this piece of information will help.

QUOTE(ming86 @ Jun 5 2018, 10:27 PM) I think no effect, my China Wallet is fine (no problem receive HongBao), never go to China though . OK, doesn't help though. I will contact the official account then. QUOTE(jayko @ Jun 5 2018, 10:32 PM) Up for we chat. Already been using we chat pay and alipay since 2016. Lol Me too since 2014, the adoption rate is still low here. I only enjoy it whenever I'm in China.

QUOTE(3822 @ Jun 5 2018, 10:38 PM) Did you use your real name as ID or nick name? Tried the Wechat support, but they need us to attach the NRIC (both side). give up liao... Hmm. Silly question from me but how did you get into the WeChat Pay Malaysia support? I don't see it anyway. I have followed the official account. Ignore me, got it now. QUOTE(mamamia @ Jun 5 2018, 10:49 PM) Oops, then the usage will be very low at this moment.. no point having a wallet which can’t be use nationwide.. Btw, those who can use MY wallet, r u guys using android phone? Coz my friends who used android can link to MY wallet, but those who using iOS phone can’t link.. iOS wechat latest version is only 6.6.7, but the FAQ shown need to be 6.6.13 and above? It seem the version is so much different I tried both Android and iOS (iPad) not able to. It's 6. 3.13 not 6.6.13. I already submitted via Support but didn't submit my I.C., just a screenshot of my Wallet page to show that it's displaying China wallet and the Yuan currency sign.

QUOTE(Lingohal @ Jun 6 2018, 12:43 AM) How do you top up your RMB wallet? Don't you require a China bank card for that? My best friend is in Beijing, she will top up for me whenever I need money. Else, these days I will ask favour from my China colleagues who are working in Malaysia to reload for me while I pay them back in MYR to their local Malaysia bank account. Just a favour, I don't ask often though. China used to allow tourists to open a bank account in China but these days no longer allows.. Checked in my last few trips.

QUOTE(Lingohal @ Jun 6 2018, 01:03 AM) My friend did the same too, asking friend in China to help top up. I was hoping that there is other way. Hopefully soon we can do a conversion from MYR wallet to RMB wallet. 🤞 Unlikely. China wallets are very independent based. Same goes to AliPay, it's only for them while the rest of the population in the world uses international version. Theirs are forever flexible and can be used anywhere.

QUOTE(tanaumaga @ Jun 6 2018, 02:00 AM) You need a China bank card to activate RMB wallet. Actually this regulation only started few months ago, my friend still can get RMB wallet when he registered last year, using local credit card. Top up still has to rely on others to transfer money in, since local cc cant be used for payment. Now not able to add Malaysia CC anymore? I also have my CCs added but serves no purpose.

QUOTE(Lingohal @ Jun 6 2018, 08:31 AM) Nope. I couldn't add. It says bank card not supported. QUOTE(laymank @ Jun 6 2018, 09:18 AM) Agreed. Which is also why I was asking fruitie because she could add BigPay in China Wallet. It's better to post here. As above. It seems now no longer able to do it but if can add since last time then it can continue adding. It serves no purpose because we can't use it to do anything.

For this Malaysia wallet, I'm only interested with top up via BigPay and withdrawal. For real usage of WeChat Pay, until our e-wallet scene is matured here otherwise I will continue using my WeChat Pay in China. As of now, it's still not pushed to my account yet. I hope WeChat will really roll out on 11th as what they responded to me.

Anyone got the solution? Wait till 11th as what WeChat mentioned earlier, now it's still done by batches. QUOTE(digidigi @ Jun 7 2018, 09:47 AM) Do top up bigpay via MBB card earn treat point? QUOTE(hobbes1001 @ Jun 8 2018, 11:02 AM) If not yet, it will be soon. Check out the article below. That is why I was wondering if Malaysian tourist in China would be able to do the same. https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...via-wechat-pay/Our AliPay cannot be used there, so I doubt WeChat Pay can.

QUOTE(laymank @ Jun 8 2018, 04:26 PM) if reload using BigPay, upon withdrawal where would the money go, Bigpay? Bank account as mentioned earlier by ck_tonny. However, I think it has stopped people from adding new card or withdrawal now. Maybe will be fully working after 11th June. Fingers crossed.
