QUOTE(terradrive @ Sep 17 2018, 04:58 PM) If you're using 1080p144, your CPU will be bottlenecked & nobody wants CPU to be a bottleneck. I'd rather let GPU bottleneck. Luckily, you made a wise choice using Acer Predator XB271HU, which the CPU is not bottlenecked, but the GPU bottleneck. I'm not sure you understand or not. There's no point stay with 1080p high refresh rate anymore, when you have a lower based clock below 4 GHz. By the way, I'm using 1440p60 because no money to upgrade higher refresh rate like a G-Sync panel. This post has been edited by emilyngsc: Sep 20 2018, 03:16 PM |

You can always use a monitor with high refresh rate minus the gsync to save moneyI'm not sure you understand or not. You can always DSR from a higher resolution to eliminate jaggies... people worry about bottleneck all the time, but forget that there are so ways to actually make use of the headroom your GPUs have.

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Sep 20 2018, 02:52 PM) I only briefly go through anandtech article, it should not, as it's dedicated physical core. DLSS = performance boost in game or double the fps. From my understanding on the article, with DLSS it'll boost performance by some margin. The theory are with DLSS, you wont need AA at all, and usually AA cut performance. DLSS allow you to regain that lost framerate, while at the same time give you high quality AA image quality. One weakness/restriction thou, it'll require game developer and nVidia to 'train' that game in order to work with DLSS. Just saw an article worthy of reading on DLSS at guru3d, later finish work chew through Only RTX 2080 can do DLSS or double performance ? In long run , rtx 2080 is better but now, no games support RT , less game with DLSS or even a few.DLSS more for FPS games. But what happen if DLSS + RT together ? will it perform at 4k with stable 60pfs ? |

QUOTE(mbr @ Sep 16 2018, 10:50 PM) Just wait for the deals for GTX 1070 Ti (below rm1600) or GTX1080 (below rm2000), hopefully in the next 2-3 months. But don't wait too long in case no more new stock. We have a bunch of people that had been waiting since before Pascal to upgrade, due to inflated prices thanks to cryptomining with GPU. How to check the card was being mining before. As for ex mining cards... I would consider them worth the investment only if A) no OC, prefer undervoltage B) less than 2 years old, with receipt available for warranty claim C) Priced less than half of a new card. As I know , there is no way to check and only by seller telling. QUOTE(mbr @ Sep 16 2018, 11:39 PM) Just the other day, Zotac 1070Ti mini was on promo for rm1699, probably to clear old stock without sst. Look out for deals la. It will come down eventually. when was the promotion happen ? |

If i recall correctly, they demode Realtime Ray tracing only at 1080p at ~30fps, DLSS +RT at 4K60FPS is a pipe dream bro, at current state.Only RTX 2080 can do DLSS or double performance ?
