*
Not for long biggrin.gif try FF XV, if with hairwork etc will kill even 1080
That's why even my hand so itchy now ( 1080 dropped back to attractive price ) I'll tahan and just wait 1170 maybe 1180 #GGwallet

hows the 1070 on 1440p UW? what games u playing?? hmm.gif  smile.gif
*
1070 would be absolute entry requirement for 1440P ultrawide. Got 70fps at DOOM, 40+ at The Division.
Now I'm aiming 2070 which hopefully will be at performance of 1080 to 1080ti

Dude

Why not straight away 2080ti

Confirm can last 5 years plus laugh.gif rclxms.gif
*
I dont buy highest end. It wont last 'properly' for that many years. As new tech keep added into new gen card, or new type of technology not supported by older gen GPU.
Highest end product also depreciate badly biggrin.gif

Hmm, Zotac 1080 articstorm now RM2399, is it worth it ? Consider it has watercooling block preinstalled and seems high clock speed.
Or should still wait 1180 hmm.gif

Just asking , does 1060 3gb enough for game with highest setting on 1080p ? GTA 5 or FF14 ?
btw , what are most demanding game in highest setting now for 1080p ?
*
GTA V with max setting will go over 3GB VRAM even on 1080P, unless you lower some setting like AA or other.
6GB for safe.

What do you think is the most sensible thing right now?

Get a used GTX1080, or get the Inno3D GTX1080Ti? Or just wait, and wait, and wait...
*
What's the price for used GTX1080 ? If good price, then why not, use it until 1180 release.

Around RM2.1k-ish. Selling my GTX970 for RM700 probably.
*
For me, I'll get a used 1080, since only top up 1K plus. Then sell again when 1180 release cool2.gif

1)Guys, n00bie here, wondering how much is the price for GTX1080 roughly(don't want the MINI version)? is it around 3k or 4k? hmm.gif

2)I've noticed that market(in malaysia at least) rarely sell the ones in top image, while mostly sell the ones customized with gaming brand(Gigabyte, Asus,MSI ...) as shown in bottom-most image for graphic cards, wondering which is better? is there any difference at all?

thanks

GTX1080 around 2.5K i think, but didnt see much stock now.

First one are Founder Edition, limited and not cheap. Custom fan version are better in terms of cooling, so potentially capable of higher clock speed.

if u never tried 144hz monitor, u wont feel the difference, once 144hz, going back to 60hz is pain to ur eyes, even mouse cursor in dekstop feels laggy  dry.gif
*
I'm on 100Hz monitor, I can barely differentiate 75Hz above.

Thats good. Using 1080ti?
Playing fast pace shooting games require highest framerate if u want to be competitive. Thats why I bought 240hz because later no need to upgrade. Never test 144hz, coming from 60hz  laugh.gif
Yeah, in fps games u can spot the difference. 144hz is the sweet spot?
*
I only played COD or battlefield, 100Hz works for me, but I heard pro CSGO player die die also need 144Hz minimum biggrin.gif

No price drop until now ? I don't see graphic card price drop being mention in July.
What is AMP edition and backplate ? does it really reduce the temp ? isn't it because of fan ?
Around which brand fan noise is quite on idle ? and low temp ?
*
Price did drop little by little for past few months from crazy high, need wait new gen release for even further drop.

Seriously, those that cannot wait can really grab them now. Price for a new 1080ti had never been cheaper. Sub 3k for 1080ti never happened before.
*
My hand was so itchy last week, eyeing 1080ti for rm2999 drool.gif but decided to save money for camera upgrade sad.gif

Wise investment. If you're not desperate for 1080ti then should wait for the new 1180. If cannot wait then it's good time to buy la. smile.gif
*
I'm using 3440x1440 monitor, so 1080ti are good card for my system. I think I'll wait 1170 which in theory should be in 1080-1080ti performance range.

Check this out, Jayz talking about the possibility of higher price of GPUs.

This is just his thoughts but it's really not too far off.

So, if it's true, then the new cards will be more expensive and then the current 10 series will not drop much in pricing.

Just hope that it's not around RM4k for 1180. sigh...
*
There is high possibility new gen are more expensive. Each gen price are increasing, worse there's no immediate threat/challenge from AMD, nVidia can charge higher.

Long time's definition can vary ma, million seconds just few days only.
Maybe they tried to cheat buyer to clear the massive over-stock they have.

As I no longer play much games, gonna just wait 2070 pricing, or 1080 to drop below 2k biggrin.gif
