Got leak 3dmark, 7% faster than 1080ti without using special turing optimization likes DLSS etc. Seems like GTX2080.

any benchmark comparing 1080ti with 2080? 

1. wait a few months, retailers reduce prices of the RTX, performance may increase as better optimizations for new games are released
2. wait a few months, GTX prices will drop and you might get SLI GTX to perform better than a single RTX, at lower/equivalent prices.
3. wait a few months, AMD Navi might be announced/released and Nvidia may reduce prices

In short the prices today are all artificially high due to limited supply and hype. For most people, waiting a few months makes a lot of sense.

I'm curious to see how many people are actually GPU limited in the stuff they do today that a new RTX will solve their problems?

If you buy now, you're committed.
If you don't buy now and wait a few months, you have more data (whether or not the price dropped) and likely more choices as custom boards come out.

Can't brain paying almost double the price for a 2080ti tho comparing with 1080ti at launch, with not so much improvement tho. Hoping 30 series has better pricing, back to 699usd please.

where does volta stands.. since it also has tensa cores.. is it higher than turing?? since it has hbm etc??

Below 2k for 1080ti is possible yes but most likely just Zotac brand. Other brands like Asus and etc will still be more expensive as usual. Wait when 2080ti out sure price will drop more.

I on the other hand just buy 1080ti and sell my 980ti before resale value drop more. But in this case 1080ti price also drop, so kinda a bit of dilemma that time haha. But considering my old 980ti is older and will drop like crazy, i think it's a safe bet rather than waiting for 1080ti price to drop further.

Also I game on 1080p setup still with 1080ti. Kinda overkill? But will last me for quite a while. Thinking of going 2k at least for the sweat spot for the card, rather than 4k, since need to lower some settings and etc.

For those wanting to get 1080ti, I guess it's not bad to get a 2080, better performance a bit, and has RT and tensor cores. But yeah more money, but not so bad, if you don't mind paying a bit more. If not just get a 1080ti

The RTX 2080 is a compromise card at 4k ultra  because some games uses more than 8gb vram and some games cutting it very close.

Well one of the good things that come out of this is that the resale value for the 1080ti/1080 might not drop too much . Although seeing most youtubers like Linus or JayZ not recommending this cards just said it all.

But yeah 8GB VRAM for 2080.. while 1080ti has 11GB. So that's that to consider also.
