It depends on budget and expectations

Imagine for same model, eg 1070Ti

Zotac AMP RM 2100, not great at overclock, a bit warmer if only 2 fans, performance say... 85 points

MSI Gaming RM 2500, can OC a bit, cooler than zotac, performance maybe 89 points after OC

You get extra performance for the extra money spent. But which one is more worth it, you decide.

Those 1080ti sellers pricing their cards at 2.4k or below all don't seem like legit sellers. Check their accounts, never logged in after few days of posting and never bothered to reply PMs. AFAIC, those 2.4k 1080ti second hands are as good as blowing water.

An upgrade from 970 to 1080 Ti should be quite the leap right biggrin.gif

My display upto 1080p only, maybe upgrade later. DSR upto 4k.

Thinking of getting used 1080 Ti as many are selling used.

I see a few quite low, but must check if mining card or not.

First generation of anything is always mixed- - it is like a 'trial' before the real run.

I think 20-series is like the 400-series- - it takes another generation to 'make it right'.

Besides, the number of RTX/DLSS supported games are only a few.

If you're banking on the future, then sure the 20-series is for you.

RTX is quite demanding... I believe 2080 Ti is what you want for RTX ON. Might need to SLI for 4K gaming with RTX.

True.. dived into a really good deal & turns out a 'very risky' purchase - mining GPU with no warranty.

To be honest, still happy with 970. But if a good deal arrives, I'll try not to pass. It is not essential for me to upgrade. biggrin.gif

2080 = with RTX ON can get fps or not? laugh.gif Maybe 1080p/1440p.

For existing games, it trades places with the 1080 Ti which is great.

Not surprising. I think it's going to come a point when all the end user can do is give the card the best cooling solution they can and hope that GPU boost does not throttle for the silliest of reasons.

I see overclocking being entirely limited to pressing "preset number 1 - 3" not too far off. Overclocking is very much poised to be a thing for even grandma can do.

IF RTX RT cores can be used to boost 3d rendering in softwares like MAYA. Fuh can expect many amateur made quality 3d animations on youtube soon.
