Received Zotac RTX 5090 AMP Infinity today.
Just installed it, up and running.
Done with extended warranty registration.

Though.......why is the damn 12VHPWR so warm during GPU-Z stress test?
I am using FSP Hydro G PRO ATX3.0(PCIe5.0) 1000W native 12VHPWR cable.

gold to gold contact?

get a PMD2 to regulate the power delivery. yeah, added cost but at least it fried first instead of the gpu.
delivery fee is quite cheap from TW/HK.

Why? Bcoz your drawing the max power 600W on that single connection. Thats the power of single PSU for a low end system so imagine all that power onto the tiny cable.

Its not the size capacity of the PSU. If you followed the issue, its about the power draw coming to the 12VHPWR cable.

I have an idea. Add 8cm or 12cm fan blowing the 12VHPWR.

Maybe I'll chuck a thermal pad on mine and mount a chunk of metal on it as a DIY heatsink biggrin.gif

FSP Hydro whatever that is 1000W ATX3.0/3.1 rated. Montech Century 1000W is CWT platform. 1stPlayer NGDP 1000W is Cybernetic certified and has its own test report.

12vhpwr always hot to touch, small connector small area, someone 575W
when playing demanding games e.g. cp77 which heats up ur gpu to ~70c, the connector is bound to heat up even more, won't burn ur skin off tho

Sigh, time to set the power limit to 66%.

66% of 600w = 396w or roughly 400w.
Getting uncomfortable with the warm temp.

Can consider undevolting your card. My 5070 ti undervolt from 2900 mhz 1.06v to 2800mhz 0.870v. A one-time undervolt without trying too hard.

I could have aimed for higher speed but I prefer lower voltage. Power consumption (and temp) reduced significantly.

Heck even my 13700k is undervolted -0.1v with turbo boost turned off. Only will turn on boost with a click of a button when required. A lot of older games or less demanding CPU requirements don't need cpu at peak.

Another DOA product is coming. RTX 5060 8GB. Just look at 5060 Ti 8GB reviews from hardware unboxed and techpowerup. Not enough VRAM for a new card is a big problem.

Unlike TI variant, nonTI 60family is more mainstream and the volume seller (unless Nvidia comes out 5050), so for casual gaming it will still be fine. Those like Dota2, Fortnite, Apex Legends, CS2 arent VRAM hogs like bloated AAA titles these reviewers love to abuse.

Lower prices sells and despite the bashing, now 4060 is topping Steam charts and likely the 5060 will top that too.

Give credit to buyers they arent so stupid, if they can get 5070TI 16GB at the same price of course they would. People just cannot afford overpriced hardware anymore. They just buy whatever in their price range, so they shouldnt be made to feel ashamed they could not afford something 'worthy of gaming'.
