Well, I just joined the club.
Chose gigabyte due to cheaper price all well as shorter card. My casing can only fit any card less then 300mm.
Now awaiting my new Acer predator xb271hu.

I just can't imagine why people would spend 3-5k for a graphic card. Especially the new RTX generation. No benchmark to test even. Crazy people.

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 5 2018, 10:33 AM) got a strix today... so far other than the second msi card which showed a bit of issue ( but seriously i cant say its a issue cause not even sure cause it happens like after 5-6 hours of gaming.. but then because of da card length.. had to take out da fan meant to feed air to the card..)... What issue was that? My gigabyte 2080 showed intermittent artefact that last for like 1 microsecond when playing stellaris where the GPU is not even stressed and the fan not running. Artefact like quarter or half screen blizzard-like then disappear. So far, gaming on FPS games no problem but I haven't have time to test it out more. Hope it is not hardware issue.3 cards.. i really dont see that kind of artifacting they are talking about for AIB cards. This post has been edited by kmarc: Nov 5 2018, 03:48 PM |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 6 2018, 11:29 AM) i more alarmed at da gtx 1080 rma rate over two years.. Probably because it's an earlier product, like what is mentioned in the video. i guess cause atm most of the RTX buyers are either new rigs or fairly new with good psu/mobo/cpu/ram/cooling ( case fans etc) to match.. hence y its low... Anyway, the GDDR6 on my gigabyte RTX2080 Gaming OC is micron. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Nov 12 2018, 09:37 AM) I've come to a point that I am in doubt whether even a 5Ghz 8700K / 9700K is providing sufficient juice to cards like RTX 2080 / RTX 2080 Ti, let alone them in SLI configuration, though one can argue SLI config would be running on 4K or higher and has less dependency on CPU. Makes me more itchy to upgrade my i4670k non-overclock rig. Really eyeing 9600k or 9700k...... |

Just bought an i7-4790k (4.0 Ghz, 4C/8T) to replace my i5-4670k (3.4 Ghz, 4C/4T) to pair up with the RTX 2080. Will do some simple benchmarks on 1440p on the difference.

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 21 2018, 04:56 PM) so far only asus. Shucks. Looks like I can't redeem as one of the requirement is to register the product and Gigabyte will email me later on. Already registered my card much earlier so no luck.... msi.. did their official one. nada. might go banging on their new office in jaya one. QUOTE(Maxieos @ Nov 21 2018, 08:47 PM) How much you bought ? new ? I bought 2nd-hand in garage sale from reseller as it is difficult to find people selling it. RM899.What game you plan to play with it bf5 ? do let us know is there any performance gain from same processor gen with i7 vs i5. Now playing BF1 and shadow of mordor. New games I usually wait until good discounts. |

QUOTE(Maxieos @ Nov 21 2018, 10:47 PM) Nice price , last time price around 2k. Probably can get cheaper if I wait for better deals but hands too itchy. As I know BF1 normally consume or required more cores to run.So how much fps gain from the upgrade ? you sold your old 4670k processor ? Not yet received but yeah, planning to sell off the 4670k if no issues with the 4790k. This post has been edited by kmarc: Nov 21 2018, 10:54 PM |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 21 2018, 11:16 PM) da major diff that i had when i went from Was thinking of getting a brand new 8700k or 9700k rig but decided otherwise. Went for the easiest upgrade which is to swap processor. Please don't tempt me. 4790k to 7820x was no more i/o bottleneck on the dmi. dmi 2.0 for me was being saturated by my drives with me doing alot of data moving while the cpu/rams were tasked for other things. seriously now with 800mbps.. and few other things i am noticing already dmi 3.0 saturation on small read/writes. hoping for dmi 4.0 with native usb 3.1 multiple nvme raids.. oh yeah optane is a raid ya. pretty cool stuff. running it with a wd red drive. I want to get at least another 1-2 years of life from my current rig. |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Nov 22 2018, 02:30 AM) yeah, ure already too late in da game for DMI 3.0 chipset.. ( z170,z270,x299,z370,z390) I did say don't tempt me right? might as well wait for dmi 4.0 Now with my new NVME m2 on PCIE, my RTX 2080 is running at PCIE 3.0 8x. From the net, looks like only a 2080 TI will be bottleneck at 8x. Not much info on RTX 2080. This post has been edited by kmarc: Nov 22 2018, 08:12 AM |

Gigabyte replied on the Battlefield 5 bundle. No can do. We follow Nvidia (who by the way, showed the middle finger on early adopters).
