we've all learned a lesson or two on boarding the AMD GPU's hype train while since Polaris they've been failing so far, that moulded Nvidia to be more monopolistic on GPUs throughout years.

i'm getting a rtx2080 this saturday, probably at lowyat. which model do you guys recommend?

so I bought rtx 2080 today, my weak asss CPU is bottlenecking it epic style

yup, i'm gonna change it probably a few months later. that will be a completely new rig.

most people who called RTX a scam and go as far as belittling people who could actually afford and adopt a higher end RTX GPU are either:
1. trying too hard to give off r/iamverysmart vibes to cover their ignorance
2. couldn't afford it
3. assume they were smart by choosing AMD who have released disappointing and inefficient GPUs over and over and over again (but don't mix this up with their successful CPU counterparts)
4. AMD fanboys who stayed silent when AMD released yet another disappointing Radeon VII, without realizing that they look like a pawn defending companies. company fanboy-ism is cancerous.
5. can afford but 1.
6. joining the hate train, bonus point if coupled with 2.

I bought rtx 2080 for its raw performance, probably also feel like wanna play around with RTX as well. couldn't find 1080 ti no more.

but the tech is indeed in its infancy state though, more optimisation is going to be needed to achieve high performance.

that only applies to those who would take risks on getting used GPUs, in exchange for a cheaper price. I believe most will try and opt for a brand new GPU instead of a used one, like in my case, I couldn't find 1080 ti anymore, got a 2080 instead last week which serves me well.

it's like gtx1070 upgrading to gtx1080ti. with a touch of ray tracing.

if they release yet another lineup just after 8 months of RTX launch i'll be SUPER pissed off...

aww nvidia computex 2019 is SUPER boring...

edit: ok i'm SUPER surprised that there's no new GPU lineup from nvidia

it's still super cuz it super ripped off existing rtx users

ehh...if you already have 1080ti, don't upgrade to 2080 super/non-super? just my suggestion, that thing is already powerful enough to last until RTX 3000 series (or even more if you're persistent)

i'll just wait for 3000 series. hope there will not be any RTX3000 SUper once again










though i think nvidia would pull yet another sneaky on us

game looks really good, too bad i perceive its release date as next year.

it takes them more or less 2 years to release a new lineup so highly likely they are going to
plus when the pressure of 'high performance' consoles they have to set a new benchmark for the new cards, so I'd expect to see good amount of performance boost for this new lineup, not to forget now they're relying on TSMC 7nm process
