eiraku, help help where in dell webpage talk about 14 days total satisfaction policy, why i cannot find? i want to ask dell to refund the different price.

hmmm...don't do all the Dell updates...some drivers might not work well with your system...
happened to me...thought all is usefull, caused the updates would pop-up informing you to update...now no more...
anyway...my palmrest still ok...

don't know...maybe you're a heavy user and keep your hand everyminutes/second on the palmrest... kiddin only...
anyway...mine still ok...no fading or yellowish turning...

well... i am quite a heavy user.... using a usb keyboard seems inconvenient as this screen is so tinny!

thanks guys. i am on vista, using dell drivers. but only thing i am scared that if i use drivers not from dell, than it might give some problems. u guys uses laptop2go.com? today at 4, the guy will be coming to replace my touchpad and my dvd writer..this time they are giving me a sony version.

Added on July 25, 2007, 10:30 amhey guys, the dell guy came yesterday and replaced my optical drive as well as my whole palm rest which includes the touchpad and the media buttons in front.

thing is, the media button illumination is no longer the bright original blue..it is now light greenish blue..the colour difference is obvious relative to the power button. at first, i thought of changing it, but i think the new colour is better, is not too striking. plus, the new buttons are nice, real nice, they are easy to press and not too recessed as my previous one...

thing is, i studied the touchpad again, and i managed to find that the chrome lining is again, poorly done..its not peeling off, but its not straight..its a shoddy job. anyway, called them up again and demanded a replace..i specifically asked them for the same colour which i have now and i said i do not want recessed buttons like my previous one...the guy claims that there is only one colour and he cannot guarantee tht the buttons will be like how i want it i said it must be like how i want it, else i am going to bring it up with their customer care people and ask for them to change it one more time...sometimes these people just drive me nuts....

omg..we are falling back..no update?complain,problem,trouble..lol..

lol long time havent come back here...had to walk all the way uphill to the admin building to get a good strong signal...anywa it was worth it.

well i have my laptop for about 1 month already...the facials are still flawless...and im a heavy user too..what with oblivion and cs'ing with hostel mates...palmrest still like new...i think the yellowish color is from the sweat of ur palm or something..i noticed mine had it too after hours of resting palm there..just use moist cloth to wipe it off...as for my silver lining at the touchpad,like new too...no flaw whatsoever

but then mine's only 1 month old...many things could happen later *touch wood* haha

no worry,do u get the 3years complete cover?if you do then nothing to be worry about..

Im XPS M1210 user as well.
My one is Duo Core only.. Haiz..(After 2 weeks, core 2 duo come out)
Now im running Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux system in M1210.
Thinking of t play with Windows Server>.<

i am sad...dell no longer sell this model...my bro wan 12inch size 1...the latest xps is 13inch...he donwan...haih....

now donno, wat brand got 12inch size notbook...

asus got 12 inch i think...or i think its more like 11 inch...go check it out...and sony vaio too...but specwise for 12 incher wont be as good as the 1210 tho im afraid

my warranty only 1 year...but maybe ill extend it when a month or two from expiring

guys...guess what. i getting a brand new XPS M1210 soon... Dell is phasing out all the excess stock of M1210....

i've been out from this forum for quite awhile, so 1210 is phasing out d??sad to hear that....so which means if there's by any chance that when dell no longer hav 1210 in stock, our replacement would be 1330??

update : my palmrest...they sent me a new one, after fixing it, looked new and nice...then at night when i was inspecting it properly..i noticed it again...dang...same old problem. the chrome plating is badly done. sigh...called and asked them to change it. 2 days later, they sent a new one. this time, before letting the guy fix it, i inspected it thoroughly, was even worst than the one i had. rejected it and called up dell customer care. i took a pic of the problem i was complaining about and sent it to them. the guy said he will get back to me, until today, no news yet...gonna be almost a week, better call him again

oh ya, was at pc fair yesterday. played with the new m1330. i think i like my 1210 better its not really lighter than the 1210, feels almost the same..the design is nice tough, especially the titled design..makes it nicer to type things out. i liked the new touchpad, although i wished they would make it bigger. build quality was ok only la...was expecting it to be better. the screen was flimsy. oh ya, only 2 USB ports....thts so little

all in all, am happy with my xps

I got to look at the M1330 myself during PCFair on Saturday (didn't get to play with it though, a crowd was blocking me from doing that), and other then it being gorgeous, yeah, I see having ONLY 2 USB ports as being a SERIOUS problem. Right now I have 4 USB connections running on my M1210 (Printer, Mouse, Cooler and USB Hub - plus another 4 ports), not counting the Flash drives that I connect to it on a regular basis...

So, yeah, sure the M1210 loses on design, screen brightness (and real estate) and graphics power (plus the HDMI connection)... But we still have oodles of practicality...

About the chrome plating problem, call them up! We paid good $$$ for this thing, so they better ensure that we get our money's worth... As long as CC covers it anyway...
