I got to look at the M1330 myself during PCFair on Saturday (didn't get to play with it though, a crowd was blocking me from doing that), and other then it being gorgeous, yeah, I see having ONLY 2 USB ports as being a SERIOUS problem. Right now I have 4 USB connections running on my M1210 (Printer, Mouse, Cooler and USB Hub - plus another 4 ports), not counting the Flash drives that I connect to it on a regular basis... icon_rolleyes.gif

So, yeah, sure the M1210 loses on design, screen brightness (and real estate) and graphics power (plus the HDMI connection)... But we still have oodles of practicality... thumbup.gif

About the chrome plating problem, call them up! We paid good $$$ for this thing, so they better ensure that we get our money's worth... As long as CC covers it anyway... whistling.gif
*
ooo...you did drop by at Dell's booth during PC Fair...i went all the three days of PC Fair... tongue.gif
tested out almost all the latest notebook of different brands...just want to get the feels of having different kind of notebook... laugh.gif

hmmm...one of it is XPS M1310...really a nice notebook to have...just to say...the sad part is USB only 2...got many things to connect...

another tempting notebook was HP notebook model TX1221AU... brows.gif
the price is really tempting and specs also is very nice(for me icon_rolleyes.gif )...
the design also is really attractive, the monitor can be twist and use as a Tablet PC...that's really cool man... rclxm9.gif
but on Sunday...the model already out-of-stock...guess,many people snatch the model...
on Friday and Saturday only got people bought two three of the same model...so suprised... sweat.gif
without thinking much and play around for a while...they bought it... cool2.gif

anyway...did any you guys check the preview model of XPS M1210(behind M1310 booth)...it's touchpad got the XPS word(got lighting some brows.gif )...looks cool for me... thumbup.gif
wonder why mine don't have that...any of M1210's users had that kind of touchpad... smile.gif

anyway...any latest news or feedback, problems, reviews or anything about XPS M1210... hmm.gif

hey guys,

i finally got a call from them...they said they got approval to replace my whole casing which supposedly is worth 200USD. I hope it's good this time..Who knows I might get the new touchpad with the XPS wordings on it..yup saw it in PC Fair too...

also, I asked the guy why the two replacements they sent me were faulty and he said it might be because the Dell replacements they sent are all used ones..I swear I nearly screamed you bas***s to him..Bloody fools..they sent me a second hand used item for my new laptop, which was already faulty.

Lets see if the new is is perfectly OK, this time I am gonna be really fussy and see how I can squeeze the sh*t out of them.

Sigh..

It's about 4 months now and something started to went wrong.Wireless adapter suddenly disabled after using wifi for a day + and can't be enabled, need to restart the computer to get it working.Other than that,USB device not recognized pop up appears sometimes and webcam suddenly missing from my computer.Just like solution above,it's working after a restart, wondering any of you having such problems?Maybe it's time to give them a call.

i will see how,i had reformat & i wont defrag my system..& monitor how it goes..if it will freeze up again..then i'll try vista & see how it goes,if it freeze again then i think is hdd problem...cause i did on my sytem 24 hrs before downloading stuff..

but i encounter this problem when i did my 1st time format on this system which is 2nd day after receiving this unit..then i had to format once more & nothing seems to happen there after till recently..

I couldn't understand most of what u were saying, i think it could be the HDD but if u did alot of p2p, then i would rather think it's external say virus or sum kind..

Well, I've left my M1210 on for a week downloading stuff, but still, each M1210 is different, right? icon_rolleyes.gif

But, yeah, XP has this thing about freezing at startup (which was what drove me to install Ubuntu Linux on my old Fujitsu)... icon_rolleyes.gif

You HAVE reformatted and the problem's still there? It's either you didn't reformat right, or there's a hardware problem... Cause a complete reformat should rid the system from malware (viruses, etc) completely (unless the media you saved your backup data to contains the virus itself)... Check with Dell, it might be a motherboard or HDD problem... sweat.gif

I take it that you're using Vista? If I'm not mistaken, the Logitech webcam drivers have issues/conflicts with the wireless adapter... I dunno the details, but if I'm not mistaken it has been discussed earlier in this thread... icon_rolleyes.gif

i call dell, they did what they can even doing remote assistance..

previously im using xp home,no such problem will occur..only xp pro..but my desktop is using xp pro without such issue..

i format it as usual, putting in mediadirect cd then boot, then did quick ntfs & normal ntfs format too..both will freeze..im suspecting it could be hdd,but theres no error from dell diagnostic (extended test)

they gonna send an engineer, but he will do what i did again then fomat..useless no point..arh..jump replace the freaking hdd for me..

Try turning your bluetooth on all the time (turning it off ONLY when using it on battery)... My M1210 gave me BSOD problems a lot when I restart my computer with the BT off... Dunno why... sweat.gif
