Eiraku, u shouldnt be sad..u r comparing xps with another notebook with different category...kindda not fair larr....

u c, xps come with 12inch size notebok, those nec/benq r mostly 14/15inch notebook size (with x1600)...12inch r meant for mobility dude! while 14/15inch notebook for multimedia purpose....

now now....let c...try compare ur xps with other notebook with same category/hv same 12inch size....

now now...when u do dat, u will realise urs come with the most powerfull gcard ever....mostly all 12inch notebook come with integrated gcard only...so, pls be thankfull with ur notbook...n be proud of it! hehehe tongue.gif

@jiahuilee
should not hv any probs...s-video plug r meant to plug it with tv set....n yes, u will hv dual screen mode after that...u can surf the net n at the same time use another screen to watch movies....hehehe thumbup.gif

hey why am i not in the list??? anyway add me....

wanna ask do you guys have this problem?? I haev 2 xps m1210, same specs, same software installed, etc....

but on one of it, i have 2 users, and the other is main admin...
the one with 2 user account tends to be slower/laggier than the other one, is it suppose to be like this??

(it is laggier when 2 users are active at the same time.....i.e instead of log off, use switch user)
*
if both user r active, lag bcos it use a lot of ram...its like having 2 person sharing 1 computer n use them at the same time...

Another one for the list!

sorry guys, a wee bit late reporting in. Just found this thread this morning.
mine is the 1.86 Ghz, DVD burner, 2 Gb RAM and 120Gb HDD, no webcam. running WinXP Pro.

emmmm... guys, do you know where can get a replacement LCD for the M1210? or is it covered under dell warranty? cos mine just met with an 'accident'  blink.gif
*
1st u hv to tell us ur warranty...
then tell us wat happen with ur lcd...
then, we decide can be replace or not...

or

u call dell n xplain ur situation..they might b able to help u.... laugh.gif

heh heh heh... maybe I'm the first XPS casualty here blush.gif

actually my 2 yr old daughter used the lappie as a ladder trying to climb onto our bed this morning... the lappie was sitting half closed on the floor next to my bed (was working alte last night) and there's an earphone (the culprit) on the keyboard.

checked service tag for the warranty on dell website, it comes with the usual one year coverage including the CompleteCover and still have 301 days left. sweat.gif

however i cant seem to find the no for the much touted 'XPS 24x7' phone support. have emailed them tho. so which no shud i call and when can i call them?

BTW here's a pic of the wounded beauty:

From what I read from various sources, the users says, next time they want to take your laptop away, give them whatever excuse to make them fix the stuff at your home. I mean, that's what on-site warranty is for right. Just don't let them take it, and it would be fine next time.

Don't only claim for new sticker, get a a palmrest etc etc, the warranty is there for you to abuse it.

yerp...dont let them take the notebook...if they really need to take it, at least ask them to provide u temp notebook.... laugh.gif

well, i guess most of the technicians dont really know all the systems. there are like so many types of model of laptops and they dun have like specific team to deal with certain models.....
everytime they open, they seem uncertain of the stuff. some are juz like trial and error.... some always forget to remove certain screws and then try pulling it out hard then oni realise..... =.=''.....
*
alamak...like dat he cannot be technicion laa..

if wanna dismantle smthg...there's 1 rule must follow....make sure u did wat ever u did b4 in reverse format...

like step A B C D E then when we wanna put everythg back we should do step E D C B A...

dismantling a notebook is easier than wat it look...one should hv good memory as if one does not hv good memory, one should not be a technicion laugh.gif

but seriusly laa...even he dismantling many system, he shoudl rmmbr the step he did b4...i cant forgive such mistake...

last time, rite after dell techie change my procs...after several week, i decided to dismantling my notebook....bcos last time he didnt apply new thermalpaste...temp kindaa high then usual...do rmmbr...this is my 1st notebook...nvr dismantling any notebook...n dat was my 1st time wacthing people dismantling a notebook...with my 1st attempt, i successfully dismantle n putting it back together without forgeting any step....y? bcos i am carefull...as long as u carefull, sure wont forget any steps...haih....

if clumsy....haih...no hope sweat.gif actually i should complaint to dell...but donwan larr... smile.gif
