T5600 is 1.83GHz 667FSB 2MB cache
T7200 is 2.0GHz 667FSB 4MB cache
*
so i guess it doesnt make much diffence lo? lol
although extra 2MB cache would make d differences

owh!...did canceled it many times...anyway...installed my BIOS driver to version 8 now...it seems to be working fine... rclxms.gif
and i didn't install that driver(wifi driver)...caused the wifi seems to be working properly back... nod.gif
but there got some funny part...where, i need to at least restart my XPS two or three times to have a longer usage of wifi(which last non-switch-off for more that a day)... sweat.gif
did you encountered something like this? hmm.gif
did you formatted your XPS?...try to check the first page...Eiraku did included something about installing the bluetooth thingy... cool2.gif
from what i heard...they stop the XPS M1210 production...why?...interested?... brows.gif
wah!...welcome to the club!....after soooo long...thought no more new member... tongue.gif
anyway welcome to the club....another proud owner of XPS M1210 reporting in... rclxms.gif
congrats...congrats... rclxms.gif
yeah!...no problem being different from others...with this M1210 being classic, made it more and more valuable and unique... brows.gif

owh!...do you mind to share the changes color of your palmrest?...did you called Dell and talk about this problem? hmm.gif
*
huh... i did follow d steps. but this microsoft bluetooth driver make me headache

QUOTE(Windy87 @ Sep 26 2007, 08:36 PM)
haven call up dell yet.
does their complete cover warranty cover his type of cases?
the colour changes from silver to dark silver den to black n also there is some scratches due to my long "fingernails" *din know fingernails can scratch off the paint... sweat.gif  sweat.gif
maybe due to long time usage n sweat from my palm reacts with the organic paint.
i might consider to get those laptop skins to stick it around the palm rest area.
btw for any DELL users who did format their laptop without switching on their bluetooth and cant be detected by windows after installation,
there is no need to reformat ur laptop again thou.
i have found a file from our friendly google that can force detect our bluetooth if windows cant.
not sure how to upload it up here thou....any ideas?
i found the file in some dell websites from other country which is not english sweat.gif

try put a link at here. should able to work it out

It's a general M1210 related thread, but yeah... Them mods might not take kindly to sales done in the info forums... sweat.gif

On this end, playing around with Sharp E shell... It's like an explorer (you know, the crap that does your taskbar, icons and desktop) replacement (a lot like blackbox, bblean, litestep and the like) that eats a heck of a lot less memory... A bit technical, but it works fine enough and if highly moddable... Not to mention it plays nice with most my games... thumbup.gif

Check out my deskie...
*
cool desktop...

yet i now waiting d release of ubuntu 7.10. cant wait to try out Compiz Fusion.... lol

lets say i did change the HD,the software-part i just need to insert the cds/dvds given by Dell and it will install all the drivers/applications/programs like what we had originally right?... hmm.gif

which one would you suggest the the 5400rpm or 7200rpm speed?...would there be any power-supply-problem and would lead to unworkable HD?... sweat.gif
*
i would suggest go for 5400rpm. reason? slower rpm may not produce as much heat as m1210 is really heatup now!
just my opinion.

Anyway, my m1210 warranty is goin expired soon. any idea how much would the extended warranty price and does it worth?
and from previous post i read someone said dell even quote till 1k+ for 1 year extension!
