hi all sifus, decided to get a TCP black civic, what is the highest offer do you think can get in January? Still can get 7k offer? Any lubang? if take 2017 car register 2018 road tax any pro and con?
*
in my opinion if u drive a car for 8 years++ then only thinking of changing, year end car does not make much differences

if you plan to change car less than 5 years, buying year end car will make your car sell lower price, even you gain some extra discount, but when you sell your car.... your car price lower by more

for example, a car manufacture date is Dec 2017, you register on Jan 2018, it is anyhow still a 2017 car

when you want to sell,
your car first year is 2017, second year is 2018... if you selling your car on year 2021, that will be 5 years car, even though you only drive for ~4 years
if you sell it on year 2025, that will be 9 years car

a car manufacture date is 2018, you register on Jan 2018, it is a 2018 car obviously
your car first year is 2018, second year is 2019, if you selling your car on year 2021, that will be 5 years car
if you sell it on year 2025, that will be 8 years car

you have to roughly know a 4 years vs 5 years car, and a 8 years car vs 9 years car....
bear in mind, if you get year 2017 manufactured car, if you get 5k EXTRA discount, by that time you sell in the above two scenarios, which one will make lesser impact? smile.gif

if a 4 vs 5 years, price diff 10k
if a 8 vs 9 years, price diff 5k

this is because first few years car price depreciate faster... after more years, the price start to depreciate slower

For body kits if it is modulo from outside shops mostly won't fit 100% and require drill holes, double tape and rubber line, while original Honda has fitting front, rear and replacing whole skirt. Window tint get Honda or outside also same see your preference, you may need to spent effort on research what tint they gonna use if you think if is worth or not.

is it possible to pull the handbrake while driving ? like if accidentally someone pulls the button?
*
To my knowledge you need to pull it twice to engage it. One pull won't do anything. Also pull and hold engages it. In both cases it won't lock the wheels. Instead it will rapidly slow the car down like emergency braking.

Note: This is from my research on electronic parking brakes only. Never tested it myself before.

You can try to nano mist your car. I had that musky smell issue before but it magically disappeared fter a couple of months.

I'm confused. Can someone enlighten me.
My last service was 3rd August 2017. According to 2 Honda SC, next service is 3rd Jan 2018 but my calculation shows it's only 5 months. Shouldn't it be 3rd Feb (6 months)? Or my maths sudah karat?

my SA told me, if I wanted, he can recommend outside do spoiler
cheaper but the issue if like spoiler and such that needs to drill holes,
and your car have problem and need to send for warranty, you need to remove and putty back the holes before you send for warranty claim

if by honda, it is official dee so no need to remove anymore

dunno how true is this
was thinking getting a simple wing spoiler

the body kit from honda consist of side skirt, side cowl for the front and rear bumper

side skirt no need to drill
but for the front and back "spoiler" (i call it cowl) still need t drill holes to the bumpers

Bodykit = go install at Honda SC. 100% fit and quality is very good.
Tint = install outside as so many choices and usually much better specs.

Hmm, if nak tambah extra wing at the back outside, it'll be problematic? hmm.gif The back wing from official Honda doesn't look nice leh. I wanna add something like the Civic GT-R back wing.

any spoiler that need drilling (which usually do, since dont want the spoiler to fly off in high peed)
will need to be remove and putty back the hole (as well as repaint, or so I heard)
before you can do warranty claim to honda

how strongly this is enforce depends on the SC

as some oredi says tinting outside also void warranty

Buy at Honda first, then go outside install your preferred spoiler using the new holes drilled by SC. If want to claim warranty, put back original spoiler biggrin.gif

Mine is even worse, 1.5TC. Service A on the first week of Dec 2017, 10k preventive maintanence on the last week of Jan 2018. The SC didn't lump the 10k service together. Adui...

Now was trying to do own calculation on how to lump the Service B together with the 10k service. Headache. Car is at 8.8k odometer now. Service B still have 5.5k. Any ideas how? Can I go in for 10k preventive maintence and ask the SC to just do service B altogether?

BTW, 10k preventive maintanence entailed with what parts replacement?
