what u r looking for, minix t5 should be ok.
but u need a user to confirm, if u need: astrogo will work; hd audio, AFR... haven't read/watched any full review.
last i read, it is ATV but can't do netflix HD/4k yet, in the works.
if not, wait for minix u22-xj , next feb i read.... this is a power box, should do what u r looking for.

one more for yr consideration - himedia S500.
this has just been launched - android9, ATV, youtube, netflix HD/4k.
but usb2.0, hdmi2.0b only, rj45 100mbps.
should be <rm400.
if it will be what is expected, it will also do hd audio, AFR, astrogo.

Yes, Neo T5 is still no confident choice for me until full review comes out.
I do play games occasionally too like Asphalt, so if it comes with more than 2GB ram is added advantage.
That is why I still put KM3 in the bucket bcoz it offers more memory for the buck, but if AOTG no go for KM3 then I have to look for t5 or S500 I guess.

If someone able to run AOTG with browser, please do mind to share the webview version with us.

I am watching aotg using chrome browser on Sony tv. Don’t think I have installed webview. I just switched to full desktop view before sign in. No issue with hd live streaming or subtitle

I am sure minix is trying very hard.

Just that the certifiers can be fussy... cant blame them... if not, tomdickharry will get it, no value.

Extend the argument, majority claiming google cert, L1, netflix 4k, dolby atmos, dolby vision..... plenty fakes, uncertified... dun get fooled.

We will see in the coming months more complete reviews of mini t5, u22xj... himedia s500, 8k... ugoos am6pro, x3.

So many makers, so many standards.... video, audio, price.... its good to have choices. laugh.gif

S905X3 using S905X2 footprint. Thus OEM vendors can easily put this latest SoC in the existing S905X2 TV box PCB.
Soon u will hear Neo T5+ or something haha

Yes I already hv Tx3 mini for Astro go only, and using GT1 for other purpose like play media, gaming etc.
Plan to have a one ATV box that can do all above tasks.
Since I'm using Panasonic TV I really need a ATV box for the chromecast.
No budget for Shield sad.gif
I dont need Netflix HD in box, the TV is already a Netflix TV.

Minix T5 and KM3 right on my budget and needs, but I would like to see it using S905X3 instead of S905X2.
Hmmmm....I can wait  nod.gif

I remember seeing an email from netflix staff to minix, saying something along the lines of 'we are not interested in working with you guys'
I also recall the minix staff stating, netflix gave them impossible requirements before they can get the certification. one of them being.. first, minix has to sell X amount of devices in the US - which is practically impossible without the netflix certification.

read this in 1 of those android boxes sites I think.. or the minix user forums

err... if that is the case, bad news for this minix t5... but better wait a couple months, see if it will be granted or not.

for himedia s500, we will see by mid dec when users get their hands on it - is it really widevine L1 netflix 4k certified.

minix and himedia are power names in android boxes, both proven in apps like astrogo and hd audio passthru.

Nah... I doubt it would be granted. I’ve mentioned this earlier but probably not in this thread. Netflix is extremely picky with whom they award certification. We all know that widevine L1 is "easily attainable".

For those who tested AstroGo on their boxes, I also found that when AstroGo is working on a box, not necessarily the HBO Go Malaysia will work. Looks like HBO Go Malaysia is another funny creature which is very hard to please. LOL.

Cheap. Look for sellers on Shopee, but it is between RM150 - RM200, depending on which seller you choose to buy from.

I’m not sure, but if it is rooted, it won’t be able to support AOTG.

If my memory services me right, someone who owns a FireTV stick said AOTG isn't working properly. So I supposed FireTV Cube should be the same. They are suffering the same problem with a few Android TV which has Widevine L1, ie lags for live TV channels.
