I wanna fix up my buoyancy at the 5m safety stop first as I still yo-yo a lot. After reading around I concluded that launching a SMB from depth safely is an advanced technique (especially with a bigger smb like a 6ft), so I'll postpone that until I sort out my basics.

Inflating it at surface should be easy though. It is one step towards making myself more self-reliant from group separation or unplanned ascents.

4 years later, I can finally say that I can hold stops pretty nicely (+- 1 foot), and launch a SMB from depth too smile.gif

Here's a recent dive profile with stops at 9, 6 and 3m.

My last visit, not much moray eel and others eels... And my guide wrestle with Octopus ... tats the iconic event.

Oh ya... and a huge school of devil rays flying on us at early super early morning dive in Batee Tokong...
Every dive go deep deep deep... not to my liking but haiz... wat to do... all guide go deep.

Finally did my SDI OW at Labuan.

Day 1: 2-3 hours of briefing on various important diving topics and equipment assembly.

Day 2 confined training straight away do at the sea which was just right at the door step. Shore entry all the way, but currents quite strong. Struggled to even stand straight properly sweat.gif

Day 3 continued training at Pulau Papan, about 10 minutes boat ride away from Labuan. Ended the training with an open water dive. Not much coral reef around here so didn't get to see much. Visibility was good initially but became poor as more and more sand was being kicked around. Deepest dive was 14.4 metres.

Instructor gave us one week to complete the theory questions laugh.gif

Hopefully I will pass successfully.
