QUOTE(persona93 @ Jul 20 2017, 10:21 PM) hiiiii, congrats on the new tered 1. Pretty much any dive shops. Check the first page for a list of dive shops and their location. It's more important for you to find the perfect mask fit instead.just wanna ask, ![]() 1) where to get goggles like this with prescription lenses (mine's 500) 2) is it stupid to wear this and swim instead of dive (or should i just use googles?) 3) or should i just get the goggles and use contact lens? many thankssss 2. Some people do use this to swim but I find it really uncomfortable to swim with. Prescription goggles aren't that expensive. 3. I would suggest just go with contact lens since your power is 500. There is the risk of losing your specs to the sea and be pretty much blind for the rest of your day/trip unless you always carry a spare. I also hated when I had to switch between specs and masks for me to be able to see clearly on the boat, especially if it's a small boat. Sometimes it can get very busy and messy on a small dive boat and there's no fun protecting your specs from dangers in such situation. I know plenty who dive with contacts with no issues. imran85 tend to lose his contacts underwater, maybe his eyes too big hahah. In the end, it's a personal preference. I suggest you try with the contacts first, definitely go for dailies and only dailies, use and throw at the end of the day, and if you do not like it, then invest in the prescription mask. QUOTE(JML @ Jul 21 2017, 02:04 PM) 1) scuba symphony in bandar utama has precription lenses also He's not evil, it's compulsory, part of the course for your wife and her sister to be certified.2) as above stated, not comfy as u can't breathe through nose while swimming, and u'll look like an alien wearing this in swimming pool 3) we had the same concern too, but after just recently dived last month, my wife and her sister just got their OW license and have no issue wearing contact lense + google. they had to do the clear mask multiple times, and the evil instructor insisted they fully remove their google under water. i'd say he is actually very good instructor, as he teaches his students to prepare for the worse case, and not to panic. bravo to him My instructor made me remove completely and open my eyes underwater too. I've open eyes with and without contacts before. When without contacts, it actually feels pretty good. But with contacts, need to be careful cannot open too big, and it's not very comfortable. Not advisable to open eyes when wearing contacts and also not advisable to do so with or without contacts in swimming pool, heard might get infected. |

QUOTE(cHaRsIeWpAu^^ @ Jul 27 2017, 06:18 PM) hi everyone, i would like to know any recommendation on diving mask for snorkeling? budget below rm300 for really good quality. RM300 is a pretty good budget. Best is for you to go to dive shops and try it on. Get a snorkel together while you are at it, since you are planning to use it to snorkel.going to redang this month and thinking to buy a new diving mask. thanks! |

QUOTE(ghostshell @ Aug 24 2017, 11:53 AM) it stated required know how to swim, but is subjective to the instructor. It's PADI requirements for you to swim. However, a lot of instructors do not ask the students to do it. when i took my ow, i require to swim 200m with fin only on water surface and float without any gear on water surface for more than 10minute. but my fren does not go through those test at different centre roughly how much total spend for the trip? When I took my PADI OW 10 years ago, pretty much every instructor told me you don't need to know how to swim, only need to be comfortable in water. I've never needed to do any swim test. The other guy who took OW with me had to float without any gears for a few minutes in the middle of the sea cause he told instructor he doesn't know how to swim. That's about it. Later on, they updated and required their students to swim. Maybe some instructors still not updated about it. So who knows what other outdated stuffs are taught. |

QUOTE(ambsviii @ Aug 29 2017, 12:24 PM) Last year DM don't want to bring my team to Sophie Wreck. He said minimum 100 log Lumba Lumba? Min 100 log dive or Rescue diver certification and above. and only 1 dive for the day because need long surface interval. I said I'll come back with 100 log dive. It's worth it though, Sophie wreck was amaaazzzzing. |

QUOTE(cacat99 @ Sep 1 2017, 11:15 AM) There's only Lumut if you wanna do day trip. Or Port Klang. But there's no "dive center" operating there. Most of them will be thru contact or friend of friend where they have their own boats and tanks.Nearest and worth going is Tioman and Tenggol. |

QUOTE(wKkaY @ Sep 7 2017, 06:17 PM) You must be full of piss QUOTE(satsugai @ Sep 8 2017, 12:36 AM) hi all, did my OW in tenggol in May and then did a couple dives in Gili last week. I think you can go ahead and do your AOW as it kinda helps enhance your diving skills too. Looking to do more asap before doing AOW (to be more comfortable in the water first and get buoyancy right Any recommendation on where to dive in Malaysia in October - December (or other countries with cheap flight/dive packages Thanks!! October is still open season for many east coast islands. Especially the ones that are further south, like Tioman. Then there's east Malaysia. Padang and weh are easily accessible with a short flight away and are reasonably priced too. |

QUOTE(desireeang @ Sep 10 2017, 08:13 PM) I am considering this...but look not nice Hahahah don't slap me plzzz Haha for that budget and size for dive comps, there's not much choices. Some divers here use mares matrix also. But might need to recharge between dive. I find that troublesome. Later forgot edi then dive comp died edi susah, especially if it's a few days dive trip. I would personally go for D4i pastel colors range |

QUOTE(zstan @ Sep 10 2017, 10:51 PM) Send to dive shop that can get it fixed. They will do a pressure chamber test on it too. Actually you can change it yourself. Just need the kit and tools to do it. Puck pro is easy cause the battery easily can find and don't need any special tools to open it up. |
