Whats the dive profile like diving at sophie ? Just hangout at the top of the ship for 10-15 mins and then follow ascend line up for deco stop? how long are the stops?

Normal air becomes toxic at 56m as PO2 limit exceed 1.6. Might get nitrogen narcosis and convulsion with the possibility of drown at any given moment. Any Tec dive which exceeds that depth requires Trimix gas with nitrox gases for decompression stops. DCI is very real if proper procedures are not adhere to.

A normal dive comp will beep like crazy from 40m onward and may lock itself if they r not set to gauge mode. You may also risk blowing ur deco stops as those dive comps do not have the required algorithm to calculate such dive profiles. A single tank with not be enough to complete a proper deco stop at that depth. Perhaps that's y the dive centre only allows 1 dive anticipating that divers will get DCI.

Ending a dive with little or no more gas in the tank is not lucky. It's negligence and improper dive planning. Gas = time for divers to look for solution to problems encountered during/after the dive. At times, it's common practice for Tec divers to continue breathing from their deco bottle even at the surface and on their way back to shore for conservatism. That extra gas u have might save u from taking a trip to the nearest camber.

Additionally if you have DAN, they will not cover any incidents of such nature and might even void your insurance if they found out about it. Make sure to dive within your training/certification limit with a proper dive centre with facilities that support such excursion. Some centres and their staffs will push the limit for some extra profit risking the life of themselves and those under their care.

Be vigilant.
