One thing I miss about windows xp is the network icon once connected.
During XP you can see the icon blinking to show the internet activity. But now, on Vista, the icon is just there stagnant. No indication of internet activity.

All you need to do is right-click on the internet connection tray icon and select "Turn on activity animation".

Just wondering though... might be a stupid question... but I never tested and try it so I didn't know.
When I change my proc and motherboard... is it okay if I didn't reformat my Vista. And just boot in like that??? Or it is necessary to reformat everything again.

It's highly possible that you'll have some drivers problems if you do that. It's better to remove the drivers for the current motherboard first.

I would also like to know, why is it that sometimes I am not running any programs or doing anything, my laptop HDD activity LED keeps on blinking. What is vista doing in the background? What is vista doing in the background? caching unused stuff occupying your ram to your hdd, to free up precious ram.

This is getting annoying...
I want to save multiple wallpapers from the internet.
In XP if I save from 10 pictures from the same website... say My Picture\Allure\Wallie.. then for the first picture I will navigate it from My Picture to Allure to Wallie using browse option and save it there.
The when I click save for the next 9 pictures.. it will straight away open in My Picture\Allure\Wallie so I can save pictures a lot faster.
However in Vista... even when I browse to Pictures\Allure\Wallie and save my picture there... I still have to navigate to Pictures\Allure\Wallie through browse option for the next 9 pictures which really annoys me.
Any possible solution for this?? I don't like the idea of navigating to each folder in Pictures folder one by one even if I'm saving pictures from the same websites.

Use Firefox, it will remember the last folder where you save your pictures.
