QUOTE(heizad @ Mar 30 2007, 04:28 AM) wanna ask here...i overclocked my proc...then during boot screen...the green loading bar suddenly freeze..i dunno why...if not oc...nothing happened... lol. first time overclock? try upping the speed more. u will get corrupt windows installation for your problem, decrease the speed lower by few megahertz till can successfully boot into windows. then try stressing the pc for stability |

QUOTE(splinter @ Apr 10 2007, 12:45 AM) Thinking of getting a new Notebook with vista preloaded. try reinstall fresh copy. usually those notebook come with lotsa nonsense program running in background. bloatware. The problem is, no matter wad brand, Sony, HP, Compaq, Toshiba or bla bla i try so far, they run damn slow on preloaded Vista even the spec is C2C 1.66Ghz with 1Gb ram. The windows boot up and shut down is slow like snail even my p4 HT with XP can beat it kau kau one.. So actually wad wrong with those notebook preloaded Vista? |

QUOTE(splinter @ Apr 10 2007, 10:00 AM) Yea, i suspect those dumb software tat preloaded inside slow up the pc. The problem is nowaday all those preloaded Notebook doent provide windows CD only use recovery system, if u recovery still all those stupid software will install back again... Grrzzz Headache. Actually plan 2 get the Sony 1 but really... get a copy of vista installation disc. u should have the legit OEM key, so no problem. for driver, usually can download from manufacturer websites. |

QUOTE(RokXIII @ Apr 12 2007, 02:52 AM) do u guys feel that the build-in Window Defender is enough to block/cure those spyware/malware? Planning to install a 3rd party anti-spyware.... never enough. even the windows itself got many exploits and windows, no pun intended.better install security suite. try norton 360 |

QUOTE(aidlover @ May 11 2007, 04:14 AM) hi, if OEM version, cant transfer account. if retail version, can do. depend on your version.i want to ask. i have activated my vista business on my PC. however i plan to change/upgrade a new pc. can i activate the vista on the new PC? i plan not 2 use the vista on my current pc. btw, the upgrade u meant the whole pc or just components? if u change the mobo, meant u need to transfer account already. correct me if wrong |

QUOTE(cupz @ May 11 2007, 07:45 PM) how do you check whether the vista i have is the 32-bit or 64-bit? does microsoft make vista 32bit and 64bit on single dvd? or your dvd pressed by Jack Sparrow? on the cover it says 32 and 64 ? does that mean it has both? and what about the product key? will the product key work regardless of 32 bit or 64bit ? @aidlover sorry for confusion. the account i meant is the activation. if retail, can activate few times but only one will be activated if installed on multiple pc. just like ol' XP |

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ May 14 2007, 01:50 AM) OMG, thanks for the tip! caching unused stuff occupying your ram to your hdd, to free up precious ram.I never realized that option there. I would also like to know, why is it that sometimes I am not running any programs or doing anything, my laptop HDD activity LED keeps on blinking. What is vista doing in the background? |

QUOTE(Phoenixwunin @ May 15 2007, 01:21 PM) This is getting annoying... try use download manager. like flashget. use download all link.I want to save multiple wallpapers from the internet. In XP if I save from 10 pictures from the same website... say My Picture\Allure\Wallie.. then for the first picture I will navigate it from My Picture to Allure to Wallie using browse option and save it there. The when I click save for the next 9 pictures.. it will straight away open in My Picture\Allure\Wallie so I can save pictures a lot faster. However in Vista... even when I browse to Pictures\Allure\Wallie and save my picture there... I still have to navigate to Pictures\Allure\Wallie through browse option for the next 9 pictures which really annoys me. Any possible solution for this?? I don't like the idea of navigating to each folder in Pictures folder one by one even if I'm saving pictures from the same websites. |

QUOTE(pikacu @ May 17 2007, 12:21 PM) using ultimate and business here i think you meant the torrent clients work more smoothly not download faster right? CS source : ok DoTA : ok CS 1.6 : ok Bittorent/emule/other bt software : 100% working , but imo, slightly faster in vista for those curious, most software work on vista. some need to change the compability mode to run. i only hate when aero suddenly disabled because of the older software that can't use aero theme (or the other way round?) |

QUOTE(lehtung @ May 17 2007, 08:02 PM) does Kingston DataTraveler ReadyFlash have any different with other flash memory when use with Windows ReadyBoost ? differences compare to other flash drive is... it's readyboost ready.kingston site said it was enhaced for windows readyboost ... http://www.kingston.com/flash/dt_readyflash.asp?id=2 other flashdrive might has lower speed, below the minimum required speed for readyboost to work. so if u want to use readyboost, just get a readyboost thumbdrive or buy a very high speed thumbdrive |
