What do we do if Kastam didn't send any notice to pick up the item being held by kastam?
Is there any other way to retrieve the items?
Like who should we call?

QUOTE(limmin @ Apr 6 2008, 10:57 AM) Your item cleared customs in MALAYSIA at 3:11 PM on April 4, 2008. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. Your lucky not to get your item "arrested" by the customs. For handphones, imported ones need a permit from SIRIM to be used. Its a one-time "special" permit that costs RM220 - RM250, depending on how fast you want the permit. The extra RM30 is to give an authorized officer chop the bloody form. This is the message i got from the USPS tracking. Does this mean my item was cleared liao? Or still dunno yet.... ? Very very worry now.... haih... Thanks. |

^You should be getting your notification letter tomorrow.
Well you're not that screwed, you're only screwed if you have to pay the tax fee. I went there last thursday to pick up my package. Pakcik custom declared my package as 5 shirts only and I didn't get taxed |

Problem is that place is only open on weekdays and I'm working during weekdays.
Can I go there without the notification letter and what do I have to bring? I need the package urgently. and what time do they open and close? Also how long does it take if I take the bus from KL Sentral to that place? Added on April 20, 2008, 12:41 pmHow about used items? Since the item has no duty tax, it has a sales tax of 10%. If its a used item. is the sales tax still applicable? This post has been edited by blizzzy: Apr 20 2008, 12:41 PM |

If you can't got there, you can appoint Pos Laju as your custom agent but you need to pay RM49.50 if I'm not mistaken. Can I go there without the notification letter and what do I have to bring? Its best that you have the notification letter as to avoid any hassle. and if you're picking up a package for someone else just make sure you bring the person photostat IC. It didn't say so on the letter but the custom guy will ask you for it. Important thing to bring is the notification letter, item invoice, IC and another form of identification e.g Driving License I went there buy car, so I have no idea how long it will take to go by bus. |

hi,
my friend will send me parcel with cosmetic (not taxable right?),skin care prds (taxable?? %?), clothings and handbag(taxable how many %?) second, it will be declare as gift. if my friend wrap all the items into boxes with gift paper, does it works? (example 4 gift-wrapped boxes into 1 parcel) thanks, pls help QUOTE(secretsummer @ Feb 8 2008, 06:02 PM) i thought i would like this share this page... is that compulsory to fill in the value of parcel? using USPS.http://www.kastamjh.gov.my/kastamjh/pelancong2_eng.php http://www.kastamjh.gov.my/kastamjh/pelancong3_eng.php what i usually do try to escape from taxes.. u always ask ur seller to fake an invoice.. but if u do purchase insurance.. and ur bulk purchase do go missing.. u will be insured on the amount u writen.. i always try to ask my seller to fake an invoice less than RM500 and write them as gift... that.. u'll be more likely to escape from taxes... ... QUOTE(Zefthology @ Mar 17 2008, 04:01 AM) I'm not sure this solution can avoid taxing or not but, all the time i send something back from Japan using my own name it wont get taxed. anyone know does the above works? how to using own name? in the form, sender is my name; receiver also my name?? what if when kena custom, how to tell?...remember to mark the item as a GIFT, and if you trust the logistic company, try to reduce the value of the item under RM1000. I'm sorry if this solution doesn't help at all |

I mean if customs detain ur goods, then its bout money but if its pharmacy, then its more difficult. Can anyone help me? Or does knowing any big shot helps? ;p
