What if i buy one unit handphone from oversea, is it taxable or not? for my own use

Not taxable, but you might have more trouble getting it SIRIM approved later. Preferably if someone can carry it in for you instead.

All I can say is you just have to go there and try to bring the invoice or any hardcopies mentioning the sale. Just be prepared by bringing around 15% of the cost and shipping of the item for tax. Just in case biggrin.gif

Once you got the package check if got Customs chop there. Most item they inspect a bit (read the invoice?) then they stamp it then Pos will send you the package..

What type of knife sharpener is that? What is that for? The tax vary according to the tariff code.

But most of the knives.

Import Duty: 25%
Sales Tax: 10%

For agricultural and food industry

Import Duty: 5%
Sales Tax: 10%

Is it confirmed that laptop that will be bought from US will not have tax when delivered here in Malaysia?

I really want something in Amazon but I hesitate that it will incur some kind of taxes when delivered here.

Could anyone confirm?

dear all,

i have bought a beauty device from China 1mth ago and opt for air shipping through an agent, after waiting for 1mth, the agent tell me that the item is being confiscated by the custom.now offer a refund of half of the money that i have paid for it.

what i am concern is, the item i bought is less than RM100, but not available in Malaysia, i asked her to get bak the item from custom coz i thought the reason why they withhold the item is for taxing purposes, but the agent told me that we wont be able to get bak the item already without telling me the reason, she say the custom can take whatever they want without reason, i feel something wrong is here.

kindly advice me what can i do to proceed.

thank you

Post the details here especially the specification or else hard to comment. Too general.
