Planning to buy the Milwaukee M12 combo set.
Actually wanted to get a set of 18/20 volts tools for home DIY stuff but seems like the M12 is good enough for most work and much cheaper.
Looked at Bosch and Makita tools as well but Bosch is mostly brushed tools for the more affordable ones and Makita brushless is quite expensive.

Hikoki seems to be not so well supported as there are only a few sellers online and prices are quite steep. There is one good combo with 4 tools under RM2k but every solo tool is at least RM1k. I remember Hitachi tools used to be quite cheap and abundant not so long ago.

My main question- is it a good idea to go for M12 tools or should I spend more to get the 18/20 volts from other brands? I prefer not to different battery systems but somehow it seems unavoidable.

get the GAS18V-10L, which is more versatile since it can be used as a wet vac also

I ended up buying a wired and bagged Pana cocolo for $15 (preloved).
The bosch 18V cost more than buying whole set 12V makita at $150.

Just to clean the floor in my room only laugh.gif so saved the money

M12 milwaukee should be decent enough. Actually, brushed or brushless not so critical at home as you're unlikely to run out of power if its not a power hungry tool (eg grinder/circ saw/vacuum).. if its just drills and impact wrench they don't really eat a lot of power

Though if you want to use impact wrench on 12V.. this is the one case u might have limitation of M12 IW as its only 339Nm..may be borderline case for tyre nuts - whereas Bosch IW 18V does 450Nm easily can open tyre nuts

Thanks Sis. Bought the M12 combo set. It's far more powerful than I expected. Very happy with my purchase.
Don't plan to use impact wrenches, so no worries there. However, I do need some other tools like a sander, circular saw and vacuum. Might get these later from a different brand and maintain a separate 18 volt system. Milwaukee M12 standalone tools are quite expensive and not really worth it for me as I am just a DIYer.

Sorry if wrong thread, not sure where else to post this and dont want to create another thread.

I'm planning to install shampoo rack in my toilet and it comes with liquid nail (super strong glue). Saw some reviews said it's strong enough to hold the shampoo bottles.

My question is there anyone here tried using the liquid nail on the shampoo rack? Is it strong enough to hold the shampoo AND the force when I press the shampoo bottle's pump?

It is hard to say. There are many liquid nails in market, They are not the same in performance. Probably you want to Google and find out any review on the brand provided.

More like predrilling needed.. depends on what you're screwing into?
18V should work but idk bout this DCA coz no published Nm spec laugh.gif

To be honest if you're not using the other stuff often (at home) like cordless grinder it's like pushing you to buy stuff you don't need
My reco is usually just go 18V Bosch, one nice drill driver (GSB 18V-50 for continuous duty hours on end wub.gif or GSB180LI if just light duty) n one cordless rotohammer (GBH180LI).

Because the rotohammer cordless isn't that expensive
You just need investment in one 18V batt (say 4AH) and any 18V charger.

Makita, Milwaukee but I don't think it will come close to Bosch pricing.
In MY Bosch has preferential pricing somewhat coz there's a factory here.

Guys, I have 1 unit Bosch GSR120-LI GEN2 Cordless drill to let go. Not for wall drilling. Bought at RM280. Used for few times only for furniture assembly. Please let me know if you are interested. Area JB.

Its kinda niche thing because hex bits usually only used for socket bits IIRC
We been running round shank bits since forever (for metal/wood) and concrete wall already using SDS+
Hardly have use case for hex bits unless you are using with the home use-end cordless screwdriver

Aiya home use just stick with round shank lah. Introducing another length only makes the end point very unstable with the plastic chuck drill.
