Anyone with experience in rotary buffer (eg Makita 9227C/9237C)?
I got a few 7" polishing pads and compounding pads. wondering whether I should get a SKIL for RM299 or so, or midrange Hitachi, or bite the bullet for Makita.
Besides polishing/compounding work, is it suitable to be used as a sander for wood?
may i know what is the best rotary drill to buy? i just want to drill some concrete wall..no need cordless and hopefully can get the cheapest one because not regularly used it..TQ
Can try those cheap Osji/Skil drills and bits you can get from hardware shop.
planning to buy a cordless to drill stainless steel sinks with a step drill bit. Or can recommend we value for money brand, budget rm 400, any brand will do
Tested Step Drill bit, not very impressive, for small holes like less than 20mm ok la, for bigger holes like 35mm, it will take time, so after doing more research, i wasted another RM 80 to get carbide hole cutter. First time test on my most expensive and thick stainless steel sink, job done within 1 minute.
THe most time consuming part is cleaning the sink without scratching it. Dontt understand why some plumbers claim it is a difficult or risky thing to open a tap hole on sink... my worker is able to do it with his first try
Ofcoz u also need the boss to invest on a good drill and drill bit ahha. Once again, i do not sell drills just to share how powerful bosch is and dont waste time on cheap drills online if u wanna do jobs that require a little power.
Model used in this video Bosch GSB180LI
Thanks for sharing! It was interesting to note it can be done within a minute. I assume the bit used in the video was for 35mm hole size?
Which model to buy if do simple screw drilling & hanging clock etc?
It depends on what type of wall you want to drill thru. Brick wall, or wooden door, any normal impact drill can already. Concrete/RC wall, recommend to buy (or rent) a rotary hammer.
yea.. i dare not to use hammer mode because will break the tile. Tried high speed still cant go in.
Ok. i will go get the tile bit and try again. Thanks all =)
Get the tile bit (normal one will do, no need diamond tip). Drill slowly for it to work well. If u drill fast, it only polishes the hole you're trying to create in the tile and blunts your bit.

Morning, may I have some comments from users of Bosch GSB 180-Li?
My current corded drill is almost spoilt, the bearing is tight. I'm considering a cordless drill but not too expensive one. Will only use it occasionally for own home DIY, like 10 times a year
My concerns is about the concrete drilling capacity, as once or twice I need to make a hole at the beam to hang something. I understand that this GSB is not meant for concrete drilling, but can it still get the work done, even at a slow speed? I'm fine with it as long as I can make a few 6mm holes with it
Thanks [attachmentid=10289962]
Since you will not be using it like a contractor (i.e new shoplot WITHOUT electric supply), as at home you already have power, I would recommend to go for wired rotary hammer.
if price is a concern, one just go for the Stanley rotary hammer If looking for good tool take either the bosch 2-24 or makita HR2470. It certainly cuts into my concrete walls without issue. You can try shopping around for the barebones unit then add in SDS bit 6mm for concrete drilling, and maybe a chuck adapter so u can use back your old bits for wood/steel
guys, bosch gbh2-24 & gbh2-26, wat is different these 2 model? saw their spec quite similar...
Depends on ur usage. If ur usage is just to put 6mm wood plugs or sleeve anchors and never need to chisel much then 2-24 will suffice. If u heavy duty contractor as ur day job then buy bigger ones

not only used 1 time... want to cut down renovation cost, some can DIY...
nowday condo all rc wall, normall driller not suitable...
Ahh but then saves time and it's easier to have more tool than trying to rempit underpowered tool lol If you use short term you can always rent.. https://www.12rent.my/cat-rotary-hammer.cfm
Just ordered a GSB 1300 but only to notice from the picture that it doesn't come with the speed adjustment knob. May I know is it still possible to control the drilling speed? Else might need to cancel the order and get a GSB 16 RE instead.
I've got an old 350W bosch drill that I kinda retired because the new rotary I got (2-24) was so much easier to use (2 handle) and powerful enough even for concrete drilling.
