No, the Dewalt is not the rebadged Stanley. Stanley sliding slot is non standard and Dewalt miter gauge cannot fit inot Stanley. Not sure why Stanley does that.

I would've thought so as Dewalt is a subsidiary for Stanley Black & Decker. So re-appropriating one product as another in different region/market won't be too far fetch.

These two look alike to be to say the least, but I suppose the color scheme plays a huge role in shaping perception.

First u must decide the tool.
18V drill driver can get GSB (with light duty Bang "impact" function) or GSR (reversible, no bang aka no impact mode)
then see if get whole set or piecemeal (batt+charger+solo tool) is cheaper.. prices vary also if u include the hard case

18V rotary hammer for me it was cheaper to order batt+charger+solo tool w/hard case from 3 different sellers than buying from one source in a set

Stanley merged with Black and Decker in 2010, but Dewalt was acquired by Black and Decker way back in 1960. So, it is more like serious DIY version of Dewalt under Stanley badge. Black and Decker is for occasional home DIY.

There are many review on the 745 vs 7480. Even with same motor, the 745 has slightly less ripping power with lower rpm probably due to compactness in design.

Now there are newer model than 7480 which is worth a look.

If you compare around, you can find online is cheaper than hardware shop because from time to time the platform like Shopee and Lazada subsidize the selling price to the shop. If you go to the shop that sell online also, they cannot give you the advertised price. You have to purchase through internet

Just make sure the shop is selling the local manufacturer warranty product. Some very cheap price offered, the product is warrantied only by that shop, meaning the product cannot be service under warranty in authorized service center.

Note: Don't forget to put into account the shipping cost also

my advice is... dont start. it's addictive. unless, you're making a living with it... but the itch is still there. how i end up with 5 cordless drill driver, i dont know. dont ask. it just happens

hi all, beginner diy here...

I am plan to diy the car porch using metal c frames/purlins and batten with a metal deck... my more than 10 year old drill went kaput...

so, i do plan to buy a new one... i already have a corded hammer drill, but i dont think i should use the hammer function for my purpose.. and it's also more than 10 years old... so, maybe its time for something new...

so, would like to ask sifus, asiring sifus and others on suggestion for something with a budget below rm500...

Guys, I have a Bosch cordless GSB18 V-EC impact drill for general usage for my house but it's not able to drill through concrete. Can suggest me Bosch corded hammer drill that at least drill thru concrete? Just few cm to mount wall plug for picture frame, picture ledge, nothing heavy.

Is GBH 2-28D ok? Or overkill?

Any cord drill with hammer function will do.

Just bought a miter saw, want to ask if anyone has one, when install blade need put washer between the inner flange and blade? Manual says so but i couldnt find any washer in the box and seller say no, just wanted to be sure before i start cutting stuffs and wobble later worse still if blade cabut when cutting. Bought the okatz 10"

On the diagram it says:
When you use a saw blade with aperture 25, mount a 25 washer on shaft ...

I don't have a miter saw but it is sad that the one you bought did not come with any washer.

I believe it is like circular saw too, sometimes saw blade has bigger hole than fitting post on the saw, thus you need to put washer (well it is called bush, like metal ring). It is to reduce the hole size to fit in snugly into the blade post.

I believe you can buy easily but not sure if some blades come with them when you buy one. The one I bought, none but the blade I bought has same hole size with the post. So, you don't need to put one.
