Am using the AX20 router which comes with independent FEM. Anybody know what is the transmit power (mW) of this router?

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Nov 15 2020, 11:39 AM) I doubt any brands still disclose it as transmit power don't matter as much these days since WiFi is a 2-way communication. Thanks for the insights! There will be no data transfer if it couldn't "hear back" from you devices as your mobile device transmit power is definitely much weaker. That's why manufacturer put more focus on antenna gain and interference mitigation instead. You can probably still check it on FCC filing docs. |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Feb 15 2021, 11:19 PM) The AX speed rating is just a number, the real deal is the components used on the router that actually show the performance. Thanks for the brief breakdown comparison of AX11000 and AX73. Say, do you happen to have breakdown for AX20?The Archer AX11000 uses the following BCM4908 Quad-Core 1.8Ghz SoC 3 x BCM43684 WiFi Radio (2.4Ghz, 5Ghz-1, 5Ghz-2) 8 x Skyworks SKY85743 FEM for the 5Ghz channel Meanwhile the Archer AX73 BCM6750 Triple-Core 1.5Ghz SoC 1 x BCM43684 WiFi Radio (5Ghz) 4 x Skyworks SKY85743 FEM for the 5Ghz channel This is just a simple breakdown and doesn't include all other components, testing and RnD for a more expensive product. |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Feb 16 2021, 05:50 PM) BCM6755 1.5Ghz Quad Core SoC Your knowledge on these things is amazing. No external WiFi radio as the SoC can handle both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radio simultaneously. Skyworks SKY85743 5Ghz FEM Can I ask, what is the advantage of having a separate wifi radio compared to being integrated in the SoC? Or having more wifi radios (eg AX11000 vs AX73)? Similarly, what is plus point of having more FEMs? I'm guessing it's to handle more simultaneous devices/streams? Does it also impact range/coverage of the router? |

QUOTE(Noname99887 @ May 17 2021, 09:01 PM) Hi all, using tplink archer ax73 with unifi 300mbps. This morning the connection through wifi 5ghz very unstable even not usable(0.29mbps) and 2.4ghz still able to use but the speed also getting 10mbps only. Try restarting the AX73 and see if the performance is restored.I have change back to my old router and everything works fine. Anyone know what happening? |

QUOTE(touristking @ Jul 8 2021, 10:49 AM) Thanks. But I don't have many devices connect, less than 10. 6 at the moment. Worth the extra money? I thought your concern was about looking for a router with good range similar to your old Asus RT-AC68 router (not so much about how many devices it can handle). If that is the case, then the router's range will determine if it is worth your money or not. QUOTE(kelvin4578 @ Jul 3 2021, 09:34 PM) Hi Everyone, i just got upgrade to 500mbps, then using two deco m9 plus, weird thing on wireless i cannot get 500 mbps but only can get 269 mbps. Now i setup as ap mode. Weird thing, my pc using wired then speed test i can get 500 mbps. Any advise. You will normally get full speed using wired connection. As for wireless, it also depends on what frequency you are using (2.4 or 5) and what kind of device you are using and how far you are away from the router. You need to tell us these things also. |

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Aug 20 2021, 09:43 AM) Hello, Yes this is normal because there will be some speed loss due to wireless distance between main unit and 2nd unit.I have the Deco M4. Main unit is on 1st floor, and connected as the router using pppoe. Excellent speed detected. 300mbps. Second unit is on ground floor, connected to the first M4 via wifi. Bad speed. Within 150-200mbps, but mostly around 150++. Is this normal? How can I sort this issue? Test: Using my laptop and my handphone. Connected to the second unit. Verified via Deco App. Stated it's on 5ghz. To sort it, connect main unit and 2nd unit using LAN cable. Then no speed loss. |

I installed a new AX73 router in my office. I connect to it using my laptop.
However, my laptop is not discoverable in the network. Whereas using my old router my laptop can be seen in the network. So I think it must be one of the security settings in the AX73. Tried to look in the Tether app but don't know what setting to change. Anybody know what I have to do so that my laptop can be seen in the network? |

QUOTE(szecheng @ Aug 20 2021, 08:28 PM) Haven't tried with another laptop yet.Yes, I have both 2.4 and 5GHz wifi on QUOTE(blacktubi @ Aug 20 2021, 08:43 PM) Update the WiFi adapter driver of your old laptop. Actually the laptop is fairly new and supports Wifi 6. It connects to the AX73 using 5GHz and ax.If that doesn't fix it, change the 2.4Ghz channel to 802.11n only. Edit: TP-Link actually included a card letting people know to update their driver. Older WiFi adapter cannot detect a WiFi 6 driver. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/sup...9/wireless.html The driver is also updated. I still reckon the problem is due to some security setting (dunno if in the laptop or Win 10 or the AX73?) which doesn't allow my laptop to be discoverable in the network. When I connect to my old router (a TP-Link TL-WR841HP) I don't have this problem. This post has been edited by jchong: Aug 21 2021, 02:44 PM |
