An update on the AX50 router.

It seems like my new Hisense Android TV can't find the 5Ghz network after switching from Huawei WS880. My pc with a cheaper adapter also struggled to find 5ghz.

Some older wifi adapters/chips have connectivity issue with U-NII-2A and U-NII-2C band.

To make it short, they can't connect to those bands. Causes : firmware, drivers or both.

I see.

Another thing is that TP Link smart connect is crap. The idea was good but implementation is so bad that I had to turn it off. My wifi would go idle every 30 minutes or so.

Just bought one too.

It seems like the hot spot is on the bottom left. Bottom right is not that hot really. I double tape a usb fan from my previous laptop cooler.

The 5GHz is much stronger than my previous Huawei WS880.
*
yes bottom left part is the hottest. right now i'm using this as a 2nd router for my house upstairs (AP mode), so i can afford to schedule it to auto-off the wireless after midnight/odd hours, while the main router on ground floor is still on for minimal use.

this seems to work for me, personally. i touch it and it is quite cool before it auto-restarts the wireless transmitting in the morning.

Your Archer C1200 is a special model for TM.

The firmware is not always published online.

Hi ... I need advise from any sifu here regarding my TP-LINK MR200.

I got myself TPLINK MR200 about 3 months ago.

For the past few weeks I encounter frequent no internet connection on daily basis. (The globe icon does not light up)

Everything will be back to normal when I restart the MR200 modem.

Anybody encounter this frequent internet disconnection issue with their modem. It is the modem issue or telco issue.

Thank you in advance for any feedback above.

Hi guys

Am using Unifi 100 mbps Dlink 842 on 1st floor double storey. I've an asus rtn12hp as repeater on ground floor for the last 7 years and working well. However asus max speed is 50mbps and I'm thinking to get c1200 used available from garage sales.

Would the c1200 be suitable as repeater and setup vpn at router?

C1200 can't be used as repeater. C1200 has VPN function but slow, only 5-10 mbps.

probably a no brainier, but just in case ... I've RMA-ed a 3150v2 router in 2019. Is the warranty effective from 2019 or 2017 when I first bought it ?

Anyone here using Archer C6v2? I checked the admin page between the emulator on tplink website and the one on my router, I notice that there are few differences.

For example:-

Emulator:-

Mine:-

As you can see, the TP LINK option is missing from my router page. Other than that, some other feature such as tplink cloud also missing on my router. I checked the version, mine is 1.0.2 20180810 while the emulator is 1.0.1 20190101.

Just updated mine to the latest EU firmware, and now I can see all the latest options! I'm surprised by the amount of features that they've added in the firmware. biggrin.gif Maybe you can update to the latest EU firmware too.
