what does this WiFi Detective feature work for??
*
Totally forgot about it after yesterday busy work sweat.gif

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 20 2020, 11:31 PM)
Yes, it is..

Can't really tell much about the performance.

TongCN How's your X20?

So far so good but i'm waiting for the official firmware release to fix the "weak security" WPA

I turn back to default now instead WPA3 cause my Soundbar cannot support WPA3 =.=

Didn't try Beta Firmware though since official coming soon

The only issue now is the Deco App i think?
The nod ping back to each other sometime will shows "disconnect" in the app but will resume after like 3~5 seconds.
Guess it's the latency between physical router and the App

Is it AX50 really got hardware problem?
I just bought 1 new AX50 to replace C1200

I put the router on 2nd floor as previous c1200 place
I am using unifi 100mbps

WiFi speed at same 2nd floor still maintained the same speed
2.4ghz can up to 70-90mbps
5ghz can max at 100mbps

But ground floor WiFi 5ghz speed worse than c1200
Only can get 10-30mbps (c1200 can get 80-100mbps)
Surprisingly the 2.4ghz speed improved with ax50 at ground floor can get 50mbps (c1200 only get 20-30mbps)

Is it ax50 wifi 5ghz wall penetration weaker?
I expect it should perform better than c1200

The issue with AX50 isn't hardware, it's the thermal but TP-Link already solved it.

I still suggest using a fan on any high performance router.

Thinking of expanding my main Deco X20 router ethernet port.

Which TP-Link switch is recommended and sort of future proof? 5 port will do.

Port speed is different

Make sure you get a Gigabit Switch (1000Mbps capable)

hi. asking for technical support here. i am using ax20 and i can't connect to the internet. I have called TM and they cannot clarify any specific disruption on my area. I have rebooted the modem, setup my unifi account but still doesn't work.

hi all,

just bought a AX50 and put it on my 2nd floor. using it as an AP connected via built-in ethernet port in the wall, to the main router on 1st floor (archer C7).

i lowered the wireless transmitting power to lowest setting for AX50 after googling on the heat issues (currently on Firmware 1.08). and also disabled 2.4ghz band since not using it upstairs.

everything works great with 5ghz speed 80-90% of max speed average on all corners of my house now (<2000sqft2)

the setup was quite seamless and straightforward, but is there any more other tips or settings i should be mind of? biggrin.gif

Try not limiting the WiFi TX power, I doubt it makes any different.

you are right. after 24h using it, doesnt make it less warmer or any different lol.

but since the signal is still strong enough for my usage i'll keep it at the lowest setting for now

Hello Sifu, I have setup my M4 as router via Deco app, everything was good. Then I've done a wrong setting in the advance tab, by disabling the vlan and my internet is down.

My question is how do I revert back this change, my deco app unable to reach the M4 because internet is dead. I'm connected to the same wifi network, but the app unable to reach it. I've tried accessing via browser, but the option is very limited.

Is there a way to login back to the network when internet is down from the Deco app?🎅

Just reset and setup it again if all else fails.

Yeah, that's the only option. But it's stupid right, have to keep repeat the process

Just bought one too.

It seems like the hot spot is on the bottom left. Bottom right is not that hot really. I double tape a usb fan from my previous laptop cooler.

The 5GHz is much stronger than my previous Huawei WS880.

Actually, during my testing, the app will always work as long as I am connected to the Deco WiFi even the Internet is down. It will take a longer than usual to detect the system.

Make sure your phone is not automatically switching network to 4G when WiFi is not working. Could be depending on how your phone is configured as well.
