I was waiting for the Tab S3 but after learning of the official RRP price yesterday I nearly puked. Ha ha...

If only Microsoft incorporated a 4G sim slot into a Surface Pro...

Samsung is already the Iphone class of Android. Dont expect anything cheap from them from now on.

seems like S8/+ has quite a few hardware issues, dont know its because of the unoptimized software between the OS and apps or memang hardware problem..

These are the prevalent issues so far (can be seen on reddit and xda of many users complaining about it):
1) S8/+ glass (front and back) very easy to pick up scratches compared to previous generations.
2) S8/+ fingerprint sensor also gets scratched easily (not glass)
3) S8/+ red-tint displays
4) S8/+ camera's OIS gets stuck quite often, have to shake the phone quite roughly in order to "unstuck" it.
5) S8/+ LED dying out of a sudden issue
6) S8/+ random sounds cuts from the speakers
7) S8/+ randomly rebooting.
8) S8/+ random vibrations after unlocking the phone via hard-pressing home button. (like it doesnt register immediately when you're pressing the home button to unlock, so the vibration comes later after u unlock the phone and touch anywhere on the screen)

then there's a plethora of software bugs between the OS and certain apps.
1) edge lighting not working with certain apps
2) facebook zooming in/out the wallpaper when exit the app
3) whatsapp LED notifications not working sometimes
4) whatsapp images received when open it, its zoomed a little.

Hope QC will be better for Note 8

The OPO 5 doesnt come with the improvements I was looking for. So a bit dissapointed. Most important of all, they didnt even change the outlook of the phone much.  shakehead.gif

Anyone using/used icheckey casing before? Seems like quite nice design with thick bumper for drop protection too. Price is cheap too for rm35 shipped from China. Reviews on amazon for their s8/s8+ case seem to be quite good too. Just the review for their TG is bad.

Dropping 1% every 5 mins is fine to u I guess? I'm only posting here to see if anyone here have any suggestions for my problem.

I've messed with a few settings in the connections setting and battery seems to be better.

Install GSAM battery monitor to trace down ur usage, simple as that. Never failed me in tracing my battery standby drain.

My primary battery standby drain due to bad telco (UMobile) reception. doh.gif

Remember to to enable battery stat access for it.

yo dont worry about the 1% drop after 5 mins plugging out from 100% charging, right now just use the phone. Dont think about battery life.. I faced that before when I got my phone, a few of us also here faced it. But now it doesnt do that anymore after like 2~3 weeks of owning the phone.

It WILL improve over time, just use naturally. Some of us here used to drop 10~15% overnight (basically 1% drop for every hour of idle which is NORMAL for Android), now the OS optimized itself and only drops 5~6% when idle for the same duration of time compared to previously.

I see you keep posting about battery life and nothing else, how to enjoy the phone like that bro. As long as it gets you through the day should be fine la, dont care at the end of the day how many % it left. Serious, for now dont focus on battery life and just maximize the use of your phone. Dont need conserve here and there, dont even need use power saving options, just use Qhd+ as well, not much difference in battery consumption than using fhd+..

EDIT; and all these battery life you having issues with is only during idle or when not doing anything with the phone right? The battery life is AMAZING if you actually are using the phone.

Ya I've installed gsam but no root. Go back home use adb to grant access.
Ya I think poor reception could be one of the problems. But the native battery section in the settings app can't view sad.gif

That's why u need GSAM phone signal graph to trace on the telco signal. App battery drain is monitoring & controll by Samsung App power monitor so it won't make big impact.

Poor reception is not minor problem, it could drain ur battery faster than u can imagine compared to apps. sweat.gif

I have no games on my phone too that's why I'm a bit frustrated. Will give it a few more days.

Why keep checking. Don't check and removed all those nonsense battery checking apps. Use it as normal.

After few days you will notice it actually great in battery. You keep checking sure it get even worst as you keep turn the phone on and off for nothing include waste energy for those battery checking apps.

You notice or not seems only you complain on the battery performance now.

It learn your usage behaviour, if you keep on off for nothing, it can't learn.

Finally use back normal sp with otterbox. Easier.
Official Samsung price is the same. Only third party selling cheaper. Up to customer own preference. This goes to ask brands.

I only use GSAM battery and it's proven to work quite well.
Because the native battery settings doesn't provide much detail about battery usage.
Maybe cuz I just got the phone so a bit paranoid keep checking haha hope it'll be better after a few days.
