Sorry.... I dun know where to ask this... TM have not been very helpful...

Just had UNIFI installed at my triple storey house.  Installers says now TM not supplying the Fibre termination box (external wall) & Fibre wall socket  (internal wall) anymore...

so now I got a very long cable fr the FDP on the outside pole to my room (thru a hole) directly connected to my modem....

Looks quite scary to have one single cable connected like that... 🤤

Anyone can verify this?

Also the installers didn't do a proper job at making it tidy and seal the gapping hole! 😲

I bet that's not fiber, but just TM black color copper cable. Most house developer/contractor using low grade CAT3 cable which will degrade the connection quality.

if its copper, then the TM contractor should be using the existing phone line pipe, no? unsure.gif

Did you mean concealed? Concealed will be charge with non standard price (depends on contractor), if FREE installation, its surface only.
But for this case, TM contractor should seal the 5 cent size hole with white cement, else cicak, semut, ulat, lalat, ular, etc all come in from that hole.

@mistyblu , dont forget to rate your TM contractor via SMS. Usually TM HQ will called to followup if received low rating.

I see there are alot of confusion about the black cable not being optic fiber.

Let me help to clear this up, for FTTH installation, the cable that comes from the pole is indeed optic fiber and it is black in colour. There are 2 strands in it, optic fiber and a cable that is used to tie to the mounting on your house and the other end on the pole. The black cable goes all the way inside the house to the FWS. The FWS is normally placed near the BTU. FWS is connected to BTU via a white fibre optic cable. According to my installer, they no longer install FTB (dont mind this tho, as there will be less losses coz using lesser interconnects. if possible i want a single long strand of fiber all the way from the fibre on the pole without any connectors in between to my BTU, but wont be possible. haha. fiber optic connectors are very sensitive especially to dust.

POLE --- (black cable) ---> EXT HOUSE WALL (coiled round without case) --- (black cable)---> INSIDE HOUSE WALL --- (black cable) ---> FWS (mounted on wall near BTU) --- INSIDE HOUSE WALL (white cable) ---> BTU

Didn't get STD20 -lah.
Call rate is 10sen per 30 seconds (not really 20sen per minute as we were informed)
But why Itemized billing (RM1) and CLIP (RM3) still apply to Unifi Lite (VDSL)?
*
Correct la...30second Rm0.10 then One minute is RM0.20 lah bro

Charging block is 30seconds, instead of 1 minute. Eg 10-second call, TM charge 10sen instead of 20sen.

I don't care what charging TM offer. I basically use the phone to receive calls only. haha
1minute 20sen is the same. Expensive!

Correct. That is confirmed fibre. But just that the contractor did a poor job intalling the cables.

Can the fibre connector fit through the 5 sen hole?
If can then with all the extra cable outside the subscriber can reposition the cabling.
