how to determine if current copper infra can support 10M/5M, will there upgrade the wiring in the house?

coz from the modem interface page, can only see the max DL/UP speed at 5.5 Mbps/512kbps only on existing Streamyx 4M

check with agent on post#1 with premise address

TM not doing replace your premise copper, you need contractor to do it.

i seen that sort of cabinet box before, i think before that Streamyx already using similar box

the intriguing part is the copper wiring, can use back existing one or not, if need to do rewiring, might as well go for the Unifi 30Mbps fiber, the only discerning thing for me between Lite and non-Lite is the cost, rm129 vs rm179 monthly

btw, received a call from TM recently, they stated that they will slowly decommission Streamyx services soon, prompting you to upgrade to either fiber Unifi or Unifi Lite

Unifi Lite also got VLAN tagging?
since it doesn't come with HyppTV STB so do they still have the VLAN tagging to separate the internet/iptv packets?

Sorry.... I dun know where to ask this... TM have not been very helpful...

Just had UNIFI installed at my triple storey house.  Installers says now TM not supplying the Fibre termination box (external wall) & Fibre wall socket  (internal wall) anymore...

so now I got a very long cable fr the FDP on the outside pole to my room (thru a hole) directly connected to my modem....

Looks quite scary to have one single cable connected like that... 🤤

Anyone can verify this?

Also the installers didn't do a proper job at making it tidy and seal the gapping hole! 😲

I bet that's not fiber, but just TM black color copper cable. Most house developer/contractor using low grade CAT3 cable which will degrade the connection quality.

if its copper, then the TM contractor should be using the existing phone line pipe, no? unsure.gif

Yes you can,
but need to make sure it's not connected to the old TEL line to outside.
need to make sure there's a break there.

what i mean is, is the TEL jack output of the BTU using VoIP (aka digital packet) as the backbone?
it's just my curiosity anyway

btw the VoIP LED is lit

Is it possible to use VOIP box with Unifi number outside Malaysia?
Or software VOIP on laptop?

i plugged in the oldschool analog phone into the TEL jack
