haha. I download for my parent house becos only my Father is using unifi and he only uses it to stream YouTube video and WhatsApp. 10Mbps is more than enough for him since he can never utilise the 30Mbps (upgraded to 50Mbps soon for rm179). Only my Sister weekend will come back and use only but she is also light user. They also do not watch HyppTV.

So rm129 every month saves rm50 for them is actually quite ok.
*
How many people could utilize the 50mbps bandwidth? rolleyes.gif But Im happy that TM has finally offered the Lite to the mass public rather than keeping it exclusive to outskirt areas like Streamyx Desa. For me this is discrimination.

it depends, if your area has unifi, then it will be fibre

Depending on your area is using fiber or VDSL for unifi.

Anybody using unifi lite with copper? If copper not really worth it IMO. rolleyes.gif

Plenty, especially those in high rise buildings & non-Unifi area.
not much different IMO aside from high Ping? (40-50)
*
But some areas especially near my office cant even reach more than 2mbps with copper. So I think its not viable for some areas.

At least the upload speed can be considered quite OK for the today standard.

I realized who I am, village people who are considered as low cost area (miskin papa kedana) by TM, so Unifi Lite via VDSL will be my only viable option to enjoy 'high speed' broadband via wired. Anyway, not all people are lucky like you and most of the user in this thread who can enjoy high speed broadband via fibre.

Fibre in my area only limited to the nearest street cabinet which in my case, situated around 600M from my taman (read as village).

Oh ya everyone,

To waive the existing fixed line rental to become RM1, pls make sure UNIFI and existing fixed line must same owner ya. If not, you need to pay RM25++ for existing fixed line rental blush.gif
*
Good info. I would recommend those that intend to apply for unifi go through agents like LeonTan as tmpoint staff will give you misleading information or rather they are ill informed. I was given the run around by TM Point staff before getting my application done by a Tm Agent. Useless buggers.

to long one sentence bos..  just make simple..
Agent want quick because they want commission. The longer they delay .. rugi la

Good agent can suggest lowest.. but  normal agent will force you to take 199.. instead.
*
I know they are lazy, but dont misinformed lar. Its your job also what. I even have a friend working in TM Point and even she and her colleagues conveyed wrong info to me. Saying my area is 'rich man's area' (Which is not btw). WTH? What has the area got to do with Unifi application? doh.gif
After I received the email, I send her a copy and she was dumbfounded.

problem is even agent let u register
its still subject to TM's approval too
they would simply call back and say its not available at your area laugh.gif
*
Agents can check if Unifi / Unifi Lite is available in your area. If it shows unfi/unifi lite is available and provided if there are ports available too then only they can key in to the system.

You'd think with everything being computerised these days there would be only one correct way or doing things.
Still you get many different stories from different CS at TM Point.
*
Yes, thats why Id say go through tm agent like those mentioned on the 1st page of this thread. Dont bother with tmpoint and 100 hotline.

TMPoint Pending also mentioned that many application being rejected. Apparently they only want to target for very few selected location at the moment.
*
I would rather say phase by phase implementation as majority of the main unifi subscribers would be based on KL and Selangor areas as well as major cities like JB and Penang.

I contacted TM customer service...they say it comes in bundle and for unifi lite, only RM149 and the 600 mins voice call must be bundled together..

so now I am a bit confused...if the agents are correct or not? because now agent say can get RM129 without the voice call....

I call 100 to check my billing matters. Then I asked them if I can downgrade to the unifi lite. The product department told me this is only for new customer woh. Serious?

This is different from what the TM online chat told me.

Never mind later I am going to TM point to transfer ownership of the unifi to my Father so that my parent house's home line can get rm26 monthly subscription waived and just pay rm1 monthly.

I will ask them also.
*
Actually you can terminate your Unifi first and then only apply for Unifi Lite. There is nothing they can do to stop you from applying for unifi lite when you have no existing subscriptions. laugh.gif
