If want to use the 0% easy payment scheme, do I have to inform the merchant at the point of transaction, or call bank to inform about the transaction and get approval first?
*
QUOTE(watabakiu @ Feb 18 2018, 11:45 PM)
& if it is the bank?

if i read it correctly, you were asking about epp during purchase. then it's up to the merchant to setup for you. you dont liaise with bank, but of course your available CL should be adequate.

2nd question: to liaise with bank, it would be post-purchase conversion to epp. in your case, which bank/card that offers 0% epp for post-purchase?

be mindful of the relevant fees (if any) attached to the post-purchase epp. enquire this from the bank or read up the literature.

Compound interest la,  @bunga atas bunga. Understand? If every month pay in full no need to worry compound or non compound interest. Only Islamic card got non compound interest.

So if outstanding RM100, interest 10%, so interest for conventional:

Month 1=RM10
Month 2= RM110*10%=RM11
Total interest=RM21

Islamic:

Month 1=RM10
Minth 2=RM10
Total=RM20

in its simplistic view, yes. interest wont get interest again, hence not compounded.

If like that everyone also like to pay minimum lor but in reality interests is damn kaw high that's why we pay in full to avoid interest.

let's put it this way, imaging that your income entitles you to maximum of 100k eligible total credit.

if you apply 1 card, the bank gives you 50K CL, that will take away 50K from your 100k.
apply second card, the bank gives you another 40k, you will be left with 10K.
apply third card, the bank may deem you as high risk in debt since your total committed amount is now 90k over 100K.

one shot of multiple cards from different banks may also trigger alert to suspicion. Unless your income is really high and available credit is very high, too.

But if at the moment no CC, applying multiple CC and see which ones are successful makes sense. If not kena all, 1 is good enuff. And since there is lapse in reporting to ccris, banks would not know abt the multiple applications until later.

if there is no CC at the moment (1st card to begin with), applying multiple cards is even more suspicious, since there is no credit histories to refer to.

How do I check my anniversary month for my card especially UOB? I can't remember.

One is supposed not to use that card in its anniversary month just in case bank doesn't want to waive the annual fee right?
