Start with your salary crediting bank first. Some also said Citibank and UOB are quite easy but every bank has its way to assess so it cannot be used for everyone's situation.
*
But Citibank would require existing customer to 'recommend' for application. Or not?

Nope, no such thing. I got mine by applying directly to the bank.

Super prompt reply, thanks! to confirm, are you an existing Citibank customer prior to applying?

Quick question:

We are only allowed to apply for cc from 2 different banks if salary is less than 36k p.a.

What if, our salary is more than 36k p.a. and we hold cc from say 4 different banks but then we were retrench and now not earning anything.

Do we need to surrender all cc or reduce to 2 banks cc?
*
i think the requirement only applies when applying?

Diff between Visa vs. Mastercard? i think most merchants accepting CC would accept both brands, right?

each bank has different bill cycle dates. not all dates in the calendar are available, usually some fixed dates. call them to enquire all available dates (AND SHARE BACK HERE!  biggrin.gif )

usually they ask your preferred due date (+20 days after bill date). e.g. if you prefer bill date on 2nd, due date is 22nd.
my preference, bill date AND due date is within same calendar month, so that it doesnt run and easy to track. if due date is cross-month, sometimes the date will be off by 1-2 days, longer if cross from Feb to Mar.
*
Mine is a bit peculiar, as i applied online, and i didn't recall informing the bank of the preferred bill/payment date. Based on your info, the billing would be for a month, and the settlement due date is +20days after the billing date. correct?

screenshoots below, for my new CC. not sure how to read into this:

they doesnt ask you. statement date is assigned automatically.

from the m2u screenshot, bill date is 3rd, due date is 23rd.

feel free to change the statement date by calling mbb.

i assume you mean statement date=bill date? to confirm, how far out can i request for the due date to be (currently 23 of each month? I plan to request for the due to be on the first week of each month, but scared ask too far out a date, the bank simply turn me down, lol

If want to use the 0% easy payment scheme, do I have to inform the merchant at the point of transaction, or call bank to inform about the transaction and get approval first?

So if outstanding RM100, interest 10%, so interest for conventional:
Month 1=RM10
Month 2= RM10*10%=RM1
Total interest on month 2=RM11

Islamic:
Month 1=RM10
Minth 2=NIL
Total interest on month 2=RM10

?

should be like this instead?

I have called Maybank to have my statement date revised to 3rd of each month. They say it'll take some 30days to have it effected. I checked my M2U just a while ago, and noticed that my bill statement is not out yet, but the statement date/due date is not yet changed..

[attachmentid=9615735]

But based on the screesnhoot above, got the outstanding amount figure, but no stated minimum amount to pay, and the amount due also?

From the screenshot your statement date already 3rd ma,what statement date date actually you ask MBB to change?
*
QUOTE(cybpsych @ Feb 24 2018, 07:50 PM)
laugh.gif

your original statement date already 3rd mah, even you screenshot yourself on 15 Feb.

i assumed your new statement date is NOT on the 3rd, so wait until maybank generate the new statement lor. depends on when you asked, sometimes need 30 days (1 cycle), sometimes it will be immediate/following cycle (e.g. today revised to 8th, new statement would be this coming 8 Mar, not 8 Apr).

Keep monitoring the M2U. the dates displaued wont change now, if i'm not mistaken. it only get updated during statement date. so, u gotta monitor it.
*
Sorry sorry, I meant that my due date is set to 3rd of each month, not the statement date! Not sure when it will get reflected on M2U
