Otai has already answered your question, Kitteh smile.gif

My advice is: everything is possible with Petronas HR. Always expect the unexpected. Always.

I pray that I don't have to deal with them again in the future, even in real life.

Does not matter. Do not change your plans based on something that is still uncertain. Once you get the offer letter and you're 100% that nothing will change.

Thanks, guys.

Okay, I will grab the opportunity I have now - sign the offer letter instead of hoping on something that is still uncertain smile.gif

Hello,
i need some advise from your guys,
i already attend my SI and i received an email from hr that i have to attend pre employment medical examination, and i aleady doing my check up, my question is, i have wait approximate 3 weeks the result. My question is
1. How long i must wait to get the medical result? anyone from this thread canshare their experience?
2.  I read thisthread,  that hr will send offer letter, when can i the offfer letter?  is it after medical examination?
3.  The offer letter is post to our adress or we have to go to klcc to get it.
Kindly advise. Tq.

From my experience, i get back my medical result after 3 weeks. I did my medical checkup at klinik wilayah labuan. It was very slow for me. I advised, you should do your medical checkup at PUSRAWI and you will get the result in the same day.

For my case, my offer letter was prepared before my medical result was out. After the HR issued medical checkup letter, they issued my offer letter three days after that since medical result can be issued within 3 days. They just need to see that you are fit to work with Petronas. That's all.

The HR will ask you to come to klcc to pick up your offer letter, that's for my case. They will explain about the offer and forms you needed to fill and send them back to HR. You will need one to two days to fill the forms.

Added on September 12, 2012, 10:54 pmI will be joining Petronas1 oct. I am seconded to PRSB.

I heard, there will be technical allowances for those who are doing technical things apart from the basic salary.

Since my background is petroleum engineering, I will be group under skg10. Anybody know what is skg10.

thanks

Normally, how long we need to wait for Petronas to issue the offer letter after we have accepted the offer verbally through phone?

I have tried to call the HR to get the update of my offer letter for some days but nobody pick up the phone..

I am an E&E engineer. just receive a call from HR, they asked me to send application form and certs through email.

I did not apply for any position actually only put my resume on their website.

Do they need more electrical engineers? Do they conduct the interview through phone or do I have to fly to KL? sweat.gif

so..I've already passed the SI and now still waiting for my placement..however that was under PETH.

I also applied to another department, PCSB and recently they asked for my details. told them I already went to SI under PETH. the PCSB HR said I need to get sort of a 'release letter' from PETH first saying I've passed the SI but PETH haven't finalized my placement yet, then only PCSB can take me from them..

anyone faced similar experience before? I'm more interested in joining PCSB compared to PETH..

Hi Azraeil,
I'm new in this forum

I just got an offer from petronas (after waiting a long 5 months since SI haha). oh fyi, Im a fresh graduate.
First, my background is Geology, and they offered me a position as Executive (Geoscience) at Operation Department, Technical Service division.
I have read that your background is geology too, so i would like to ask about the job desc as geoscience at operation dept. could you tell me? is it being a wellsite geologist or what? actually i have dream to become an explorationist, so i wonder is that possible from operation dept. i can continue my carreer as explorationist (i mean such as geomodeller or seismic study or petrophycisit etc)? or once i got into operation, then all my carreer path would be in operation till end?

appreciate for your help bro,javascript:emoticon('')

thanks

Masjoni, I am not sure what the scope for the operations dept is. I assume you'll be in Carigali right? As for well sitting, I don't believe PETRONAS does well sitting anymore, it has been outsourced to te mud logging companies I think.

You can always request for a transfer after 3 years but I guess being in operations is also good as it will exposed you to the nitty gritty of the well operations. Once you have your operations experience, you can then moved either to the Exploration division or the Petroleum Engineering division (which handles all the development geology side of things under the asset teams concept). Get as much experience as you can and then chart your career from there. I started immediately with 3D geological modeling which is good but obviously I lack the operations experience.

thanks a lot for your explanation mate! yes, mine is Carigali. too bad, that is the job I was looking for.I see, but as you said that it has been outsourced to the mudlog company , it makes me more wondering about the job haha. if i may ask, what division is petrophycisist belongs? did you start join petronas as a fresh graduated or as experienced one? and does I count as E1 and skg9 (if im not mistaken)?

Petrophysicist usually belongs to the Petroleum Engineering Division but they can also be in the exploration division as well.

I joined as a fresh grad. Yes, fresh grads comes in as an E1 executive. I know that PETRONAS is going to change their salary grading soon but entrance grade will still be E1.

Don't put your hopes too high. Should the one that's called you is Carigali's, there's no guarantee that you'll be offered a position according to your qualifications and/ or background.

Having said that, chances to get hired are pretty high though, as they've been hiring like crazy for quite some time now. September alone, those attending and scheduled to attend PIPE are as high as 300++ people.
