Hi,

Starting out from scratch and wanted to see if it's possible to build a mini-ITX setup with a GTX1070 for ~7 - 7.5k, monitor, windows 10 OS and mouse + keyboard all included. Appreciate everyone's advice!

[Budget] ~7 - 7.5k

[Purpose] Gaming, HD Movies, some light office work from time to time

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Headphones, no speaker required

[Games & softwares that use frequently] AAA Games

[Personal preferences]
Fractal Design Node 304 Case
GTX1070 Card
Wireless adapter integrated to MOBO
1440p monitor, 25" or less
Windows 10 OS

[Location] KL

If price point is not feasible, might consider downgrading to a 1080p monitor.

Thanks in advance!

I see. Looks good, will definitely  be looking for these things. Would I have to upgrade the PSU if I wanted to add another 1080 and some SSD storage?
*
surely you want to include ssd now because even low budget setup would put ssd in it. since you have 10k budget and if you have yet buy anyting yet do consider 4k gaming at 144hz ips

Any good curved monitor at 144hz? 30" and above preferably. Whats a good size for SSD usage? I should probably use it for things I use frequently right? Windows, MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and some games I guess? 500GB should be enough I think? hmm.gif

Thanks! Just a few more questions:

1. Realise you didn't include a CPU cooler. Is it not required with this build?
2. At this price point would it make sense to go with a 1080p monitor instead and spend more on other parts? If so, which monitor and which parts to swap out?

For that it is better to go for 16GB RAM. biggrin.gif Ryzen will perform better than i5 in those workloads too.

Yes. You also gain access to 8 cores later, while Intel you will probably stuck at 6 cores (Coffee Lake).

The CPU comes with cooler.

Thats up to you. Current build isn't overbudget. You can go for Dell U2417H at around RM1k if you wanna cut cost.

Hi sifus, pls give some advice on my new rig.

[Budget] Rm3000

[Purpose] Office

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Monitor

[Monitor resolution] 1920 x 1080

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Architecture software ie autocad

[Personal preferences] i7 or ryzen 1600. Worth upgrading to i7 from ryzen 1600?

Thanks
*
For workstation rig, Ryzen is more preferred thanks to its higher core count.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - RM 1039
Asus Prime A320M-K - RM 303
G.SKill Aegis 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 570
Palit GTX1050 2GB GDDR5 StormX - RM 565
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
FSP Hexa+ 450W - RM 185
Tecware Edge - RM 149

Total: RM 3030 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)

Included a discrete GPU so you can enable CUDA in AutoCAD as hardware accelerator.

Go for GTX 1060 6GB. Yeah, it is overkill for DOTA2.
