Can suggest me an amd processor equivalent or almost on par with i5 6400@6500 6th gen/7th gen and motherboard that compatible with it?

Pairing with 8gb ram and gtx 1060 6gb.
Playing dota, cs, witcher, darksider, watch dogs.
Monitor 1080p.

Budget for both are below 1k.. Lowest are preferred.
I know ryzen are coming but its am4 mobo are out of my budget already.  Haha..
*
The R3 series will be equivalent to i5, to compete with i3. It is possible to get both the processor and motherboard under 1K, considering AM4 boards are quite cheap. smile.gif

Sadly, it hasn't arrived yet. Wait for the announcement.

thanks for the suggestion. what if im going for higher end gpu like gtx1070? any bottleneck with my current spec?
*
If you are playing on full HD resolution, you will not notice the bottleneck, as GTX1070 already overkill for it. biggrin.gif

Guys can you recommend one desktop setup for just general use purpose (excel, accounting system, youtube, internet browsing etc). Setup excludes monitor, softwares. Also, no GPU is required since it is for general use only.

Pricing of what I had in mind
Casing :                        RM180
CPU : Ryzen 5 1400        RM800
MOBO (A320) :              RM250
PSU :                            RM180
DVD:                              RM60
HDD (1TB):                    RM200

Any suggestion of which brand or any other better alternatives to get, thanks!
*
Ryzen 5 1400 doesn't have IGP. In this case, get Pentium G4560 platform. With the extra money, you can get a SSD.

Mobo doesn't affect performance. Especially with many things integrated into processor, motherboard becomes more like a hub for expansion cards. sweat.gif

Why TristanX recommend this AMD Ryzen 5 1600 instead of i5 7500?
*
The 1600 is slower than 7500 in gaming slightly, but you get way more multithreaded performance. You also can upgrade to 8 cores later on the same motherboard, something that you can't do with Intel platform.
AM4 boards usually come with M.2 socket for NVMe SSDs, while you can't find it in cheap Intel boards.

So its better to go for AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ? Just  worried AMD Ryzen 5 1600 wont be able to last me for 3 years....
*
It will last longer than i5 for sure. It has 2 extra cores and 8 extra threads. sweat.gif

Yes, no issue. I went from Intel to AMD then come back to Intel, everything works remains working. cool2.gif . You may get the 2400MHz RAM since it costs just 10 bucks more. biggrin.gif For graphic card, get Sapphire R5 230. smile.gif

Hey guys, I was just wondering about the minimal setup required to run AAA titles on the Predator X34A as well as having it VR ready. I guess SSD shouldn't be included at the moment since it's upgradeable in the future. I just need the rig suggestions. If you still need my budget, it's about 10k. Lesser the better of course, since I can spend it elsewhere.

Thank you so much!
*
VR runs on extremely high resolution, so you will need a powerful GPU to run that. mega_shok.gif

AMD Ryzen 5 1600X RM1199
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo RM109
ASRock X370 Killer SLI RM709
Kingston Value 16GB DDR4 RM549
MSI GTX1080 Ti 1GB GDDR5 Founders Edition RM3699
WD Blue 1TB RM219
Silverstone Strider Gold 750W PSU RM559
Casing RM300

Total : RM7343

If you feel the GPU performance is lacking, you can add another GTX1080 Ti to SLI. smile.gif

Hi, the PSU will support 2x GTX1080 Ti SLI just fine. biggrin.gif
