QUOTE(terence_nwb @ May 7 2017, 01:46 PM) Still good, no worries! Yes that's a dual band adapter, overkill if your router is only single band (2.4GHz). What I can say is it is a decent entry level mobo. V550 indicates fully modular unit, VS is the semi modular unit unless they have typo on their price list. I am not gamer....afraid get cheap motherboard ur desktop performance will not be so stable... This post has been edited by christina1: May 7 2017, 03:17 PM

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 7 2017, 03:19 PM) Mobo doesn't affect performance. Especially with many things integrated into processor, motherboard becomes more like a hub for expansion cards. What is the best way to improve desktop pc performance... I am planning to get this ...Should be good enough for daily usage since I am not gamer... Intel Core i5 7500 - RM 919 Asus H110M-K - RM 279 Apacer 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz Value RAM - RM 518 Transcend 220 120GB SSD - RM 259 WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219

QUOTE(TristanX @ May 7 2017, 03:43 PM) i5 isn't worth it if you are not playing games for today's CPUs. Change to these parts AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039 MSI A320M Grenade - 335 Apacer 8GB DDR4-2133 X1 - 259 Why do u recommend AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ? I understand that Core i5 7500 is much better processor.... QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 7 2017, 03:51 PM) As I said, motherboard doesn't affect performance. Why TristanX recommend this AMD Ryzen 5 1600 instead of i5 7500? This post has been edited by christina1: May 7 2017, 03:53 PM

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 7 2017, 03:57 PM) The 1600 is slower than 7500 in gaming slightly, but you get way more multithreaded performance. You also can upgrade to 8 cores later on the same motherboard, something that you can't do with Intel platform. AM4 boards usually come with M.2 socket for NVMe SSDs, while you can't find it in cheap Intel boards. So its better to go for AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ? Just worried AMD Ryzen 5 1600 wont be able to last me for 3 years....

QUOTE(TristanX @ May 7 2017, 04:01 PM) Easily will last you 3 years. Yeah, u will need to add RM150ish graphic card for Ryzen setup. AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039 MSI A320M Grenade - 335 Apacer 8GB DDR4-2133 X1 - 259 Graphc Card -- RM150 Corsair PSU TX650 ---Can I used this back ? Casing -- Cooler Master [Can used it back?] Hard Disk --- Samsung Evo 120GB [Can used it back?] All the while I am using Intel just a bit reluctant to used AMD Ryzen 5 1600 What else I need to get ?

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 8 2017, 07:45 AM) For that it is better to go for 16GB RAM. Ryzen will perform better than i5 in those workloads too. I always prefer Intel ...Ryzen hope if I get will not dissapoint me at all...... Overall in terms of speed Ryzen 1600 is better off than Intel i5 7500?

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 8 2017, 07:59 AM) Yes. You also gain access to 8 cores later, while Intel you will probably stuck at 6 cores (Coffee Lake). Is it not overkill for Normal user which only some do some video editing and Photoshop/illustrator to get Ryzen 1600? This post has been edited by christina1: May 10 2017, 12:30 PM

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ May 10 2017, 05:33 PM) Why not to spare some performance for future? Spoke to viewnet salesman.. He said is true rayzen 1600 is faster than i5 7500 by 50% but in terms of stability Intel i5 750 wins.. I'm wondering now if he is telling me the truth. QUOTE(terence_nwb @ May 11 2017, 10:06 PM) Yep you can Bear in mind that this mobo comes with 2 RAM slots only, if you plan to add more in the future, please get 1 x 16GB now or swap to a 4 slots one. 4 slots motherboard gonna be more expensive right?
