This might mean that the fuel price will remain stagnant when the price is high even after the elections. If things continue throughout even after the elections, I will stop tracking as there is no further need - enjoy my friend!

No. Previously was using MOPS. Only 5 weeks ago they used subsidy to peg the price. If not, how were we able to calculate our estimate correctly...

Now is politics season, everyone simply believe what they like. Because they think one side is corrupt, everything that side do become corrupt, even when clearly is otherwise.

The government’s promise to act if retail prices of RON95 petrol and diesel breach the RM2.50 per litre mark for three consecutive months

Talk kok. Now not even rm2.50. Those days dy can do the same .

The region fuel price is indeed increasing, and I'm sure it's hitting the government coffers badly... Thank god for the subsidy!

What I personally estimate, judging from the data on page 1 (for 3 May - 9 May) http://goo.gl/cpYiBN
If no sudden subsidy
RON95 ▲ 19 sen to RM2.39
Diesel ▲ 24 sen to RM2.42

If maintain current subsidy
RON95 ▲ 2 sen to RM2.22 (suspected 17 sen subsidy)
Diesel ▲ 4 sen to RM2.22 (suspected 20 sen subsidy)

Or peg at current prices
RON95 ◆ at RM2.20 (with a 19 sen subsidy)
Diesel ◆ at RM2.18 (with a 24 sen subsidy)

the AIP website is down at the moment, so I can't do any calculations to estimate the fuel price next week. Hopefully it will be back up soon.

https://aip.com.au/pricing/international-pr...al-market-watch

There is something wrong with the AIP website, it is showing March figures and it seems that over the weekend, the website crashed multiple times. I can't provide any updates on the fuel pricing.

However, it does seem that the price of fuel is still high - https://oilprice.com/oil-price-charts search for TAPIS (MOPS is based on TAPIS price, not brent or crude) - 4 May closing prices was USD74.97. Last week, on 30 April, it was around this price as well. So I guess, the fuel price is similar to last week.

I don't think we will see an increase this week. We will know on Wednesday evening though smile.gif

Link of calculation available at: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

What I personally estimate, judging from the data on page 1 (for 10 May - 16 May)
If no sudden subsidy
RON95 ▲ 19 sen to RM2.39
Diesel ▲ 25 sen to RM2.43

If maintain current subsidy
RON95 ▼ 1 sen to RM2.19 (suspected 20 sen subsidy)
Diesel ▲ 1 sen to RM2.19 (suspected 24 sen subsidy)

Or peg at current prices

One of their campaign promises is to stabilize the fuel price to RM1.50. I’m guessing through fuel subsidy.

In any case, i think i’ll stop monitoring the fuel price for now. I don’t think PH will want to revert back to the market price and incur the rakyat’s wrath! laugh.gif

Thank you all and hope you enjoyed the ride! biggrin.gif
