In some Persona FB Group I see someone reporting their 20k mileage Persona able to push 600km for MT where low fuel indicator start flashing.. anyone manage to stretch that far before?
*
Now I at 10k mileage, just service last week, previous best fc around 14~15km/l, I always heavy foot at highway. 600km per tank is possible, proton official fc is 17.8km/l, per tank can be more than 700km. I had see one in FB group achieve 800km....

Driving style is very important...

I see.. so It's normal after all... but still somewhat a bit high RPM compared to most new cars
*
This is the first thing I noticed due to last time driving Nissan Sunny the highest is 800rpm, so I thought about if is necessary to ask sc tune down a bit...

But that plunging speed when maintain 1st/2nd gear without gas in slow traffic is really fun imo =P

Possible 1 time did manual calculation lowest is 6.13/100km because 4.00 am go back for CNY

So assume kira full tank is 40 / 6.13 = 6.52 * 100km

A simple comparison with old Persona AT which has 50L fuel tank vs Persona VVT with 40L fuel tank,

1 full tank can cover similar mileage with the new one considering it has 10L smaller fuel tank.

Auto I wasn't sure, but for MT
If say Myvi doing 15-16km/l
This Persona VVT is doing around 14-15km/l

I think auto suppose to be similar like this... around 1 or 2km/l lesser

see my attached picture.
this is my FC. From last indicator, i pumped RM74 worth of fuel.
My driving style never exceeds 120km/h and mostly city driving. My RPM are most of the time, between 2000 - 2500 as this range of RPM allows adequate acceleration to the car. Although the picture shows that it hasn't reach the last bar of fuel, but from my experience, around 300km, the fuel indicator will lit, asking me to refuel. If RM74 runs for 300km, that's about RM0.25 for every single KM travelled. That's actually worse than my 2.0L 2008 Lancer GT. The second picture 7.7L/100km, although the figure is very good for me, but it's contradict to my actual spending and experience. The average FC is not accurate for my case.

There are 2 possible answer to this in my mind now:
1. ECU is not properly tweaked for FC
2. Power to weight ratio for Persona is bad because 1600cc need to pull a 1.2 tonne body. The more city driving (start and stop), the more fuel it burns.

It's very different from what Proton had advertised.

By the way, this is my Premium CVT

City driving fc for persona is very bad due to car weight.

You owned the Premium CVT, how is the pick-up with FULL LOAD. I'm asking because I read a complaint about it being "under-powered" by a Premium owner. The other variants owners (including me) didn't noticed it.

Talk about "under-powered" - long, long ago I bought the C200 (brand new - the one with rectangular headlights). Got very good review. 2000cc yet from standstill at the road side, it didn't have the acceleration power to slip into the main traffic! My Saga (multi-value, 1st generation) didn't have such problem! How do I know the C200 was heavy? It makan tayar! How the FC? Want to show-off and then worried about FC? Sold the C200 and stick with the Saga for the next 20 years!

Back then I didn't know about Power to Weight Ratio (PWR). Only recently I learned it from one of Pualtan article.

I think the PWR affect both the FC and the acceleration power. LOL when I read Carsifu review "Toyota Innova, the smooth-er operator - Don’t bother to floor the accelerator, it’s just not going to impress"! Similar to my previous C200?

Most of the time, just me alone driving, max also 1 more passenger.
Acceleration for my car is very good i would say. Just revving to 2000 is enough to pull the car from standstill to 40km/h which is very enough in city. Stepping in a little more to 2200 - 2300rpm, the car accelerates to 60-80 very quickly. I actually think the acceleration is very smooth and fast so the driving pleasure is great.
My boot is empty, just a pair of shoes so car load wise, shouldn't be a problem.
My weight is just 68kg so i really couldn't think of other thing else other than the PWR

If full load, I can feel the car a bit suffering but still ok. I guess that's normal.

This is a good car, but the FC is like 2.0 car...

I wasn't sure about your driving style, but going 2k rpm to 2.5k rpm sounds like a bit heavy foot to me.. you may try slower and smoother acceleration by slowly paddling down..

That's what I don't like about automatic transmission especially CVT, it keep giving you the urge to floor down more to feel the rev while actually if you maintain your foot is actually accelerating the car, but we just like to hear the engine roar more to actually believe its accelerating. Especially for this Persona, its really good in masking the speed and push to back feel compared to other car, the acceleration is there, just that we don't often feel it...

But since you came from Lancer which is also CVT, you should be more familiar on this than me hmm.gif

Your Persona mileage how much?

Same, full city drive, I pump RM75 can only go 280km!
...but when I drive high way, half tank can reach 300KM!!... full tank probably can go 600-700KM!!

Yes. I am quite familiar with CVT and actually cvt not that bad.
Just can't stand the fc but I see most of the bros here get very decent fc so I start to think it's my driving style or really the car is really that thirsty ...

Sorry didn't have CVT to contribute some result... mine just MT and doing great... now at 350KM still have 3 bars left...

30% city and 70% highway with roughly half an hour bumper to bumper traffic

I noticed how to get the best FC through the Eco indicator and I am gonna be testing it,
The rough guidelines are as below,
1) Eco Mode only starts from 30KM/H, from standstill light gas to @1500RPM reaching 30KM/H, than release gas and maintains @1250rpm Eco will turn on.
2) 40-60KM/H light gas @1500-1750rpm.... never try to reach @2000rpm or else the Eco Indicator will off
3) 70-80KM/H @2000rpm
....and so on....am starting to get the feel of the Eco drive!...and I can say... the thrill of acceleration is gone!! Totally!....because my previous car was a 2001 Wira Manual...and it's dam fun to drive and accelerate and speed around corners.... guess this car be like for "comfort ride" smile.gif

but if purposely drive like this to get the FC, there's no more fun in the drive d...
I think a good engine should be efficient in fuel and if driving spiritly then makan minyak that one can understand
I'm just driving like 60 - 80 and i still can't get a good FC is really disturbing.
Don't tell me i need to drive 40-60 just to get a normal FC ... biggrin.gif
