QUOTE(tenchi0205 @ Feb 28 2017, 04:31 PM) I notice the exe variant HU got a small hole at the corner near to the driver side...not sure that is the mic or hole to poke for manual eject CD. It is the mic - stated in the owner manual.I've used it to call and answered call via bluetooth. The sound is good. |

During test drive, I asked the salesman about Proton famous Power Window Problem as often cited by car workshops and taxi drivers.
He said it comes with a lifetime* warranty. I then asked whether it's written in black and white. He admitted he is not sure. Recently I went to PROTON EDAR JALAN CHAN SOW LIN for 1st service. Saw the poster on the Power Window lifetime warranty right above the service counter. So, if others still mentioned about the problem, you can tell them off. *lifetime here refers to the said part, not yours! Faham tak? Haha |

Sad to see you people got so many free gifts.
Must complain to Human Rights Agency. It is my Rights to also get those free rats and cicaks! If wife complain about rattles, can tell her about those free rats - that will surely make her shut-up. If gf complain about cicaks sound, tell her it's mating call - IF you want to be charged for verbal sexual harassment! What I got free are those loud tyres sounds. Absolutely Free or it's included in the selling price? |

QUOTE(skynet2020 @ Feb 28 2017, 08:17 PM) The poster in the SC is out-of-date? Or is it lifetime warranty means only 10 years as per the small prints? When I told my regular mechanic that I'm buying the new Persona, the first thing he mentioned is the power window problem. That is why I asked the Salesman. The public impression on Proton cars is bad. Or is it just my opinion? |

What about traffic jam? Will constantly putting the gear into N and then D and then N.... Will the gearbox koyak? |

QUOTE(skynet2020 @ Feb 28 2017, 09:33 PM) I used the proton app for the 1000km booking. They will call you within 3 days to confirm the booking date. You need to tell them the car problems (if any) so that they can arrange a better date if necessary. Normal service targeted time is 1.5 hours in SC Chan Sow Lin.IMHO, Mon, Sat and Sundays are always very busy days. Fridays the working hours are shorter. |

QUOTE(tezukaryoma @ Mar 1 2017, 08:34 PM) Hello, i found a weird phenomenon, when i put my phone inside the glove box (kotak penyimpanan) under dashboard and leave car, after 30minutes to 1hour, when i come back n ignite engine, the speaker will appear double sound, like 1sound sharp and soft , 1 appear normal, then the next day speaker normal again. already few times. mine is standard cvt, can anybody try to test? or anybody also faced this be4? thank Is your phone bluetooth on? If on, the phone will auto connect with the head unit. The second sound is the echo sound. Off the bluetooth to conform whether this is the cause. It happened to me when I used the phone via bluetooth. Maybe the speaker volume is too loud causing the echo effect. |

QUOTE(alanyuppie @ Mar 1 2017, 01:29 PM) I personally dont see a point of even testing that just for the sake of seeing how fast the car can go.The need requiring such speed (provided conditions are favorable) is almost nil unless one is evading the law / police car chase LOL. Well said. For those who want to know the car power, this is the paste and cut from motoring-malaysia.blogspot.my - Whats next after finding out the conclusion: good: yeah wow my ride is powerful (ego boosted?) bad: oh dear the whole thing falling apart when I go 180kmh. (does it matter at all? ) ugly: no chance comment (dead liao how to comment?) "We even managed to hit 200km/h on a downhill bit slipstreaming the lead car (an Inspira 2.0). It would max out somewhere close to 190kmh which is quite normal for a 1.6liter car with an automatic (CVT) transmission with a certain amount of horsepower and torque." I hope admin won't delete this post because it would be sad to see our friends here got killed just to prove the car power. Last year my neighbor son got killed because he likes to speed, leaving behind 2 young kids and a wife who doesn't look very employable. Now grandpa needs to continue working to support the extra mouths. In a way, it is lucky that the son got killed on the spot. You think it is funny to be paralyzed or be minced? Old goat here been driving for 40 years. Only got a few bumper kissing - only once by me! Remember - you die never mind but don't hurt others. Lastly, I would like to add to the good, bad and ugly - Worst: be paralyzed or be minced and then spend his/her time here telling us not to speed. Haha! |

QUOTE(voscar @ Mar 3 2017, 06:00 PM) oldgoat well said, but nowadays younger generation always tends to drive faster and faster, perhaps one reason is modern car's higher torque and hp, also the thought of there's abs, airbag, vsc, ebd protecting me... If old goat here driving 140-150km/h to damansara, old goat telur will surely hilang! Scared to die? Not really lah, only scare to get paralyzed and then have to employ maid to cuci buntu* (mine, not hers).could u imagine lady colleague in my office used to driving 140-150km/h on her way to damansara? those are not even straight highway for speeding (ala Elite, NS highway), but now she already changed after met some accident back then. Kancil have all those ABC & XYZ things? Yet I see those cars speeding along the Sg Besi toll and Seremban toll. Like the Chinese saying- rushing to die! Have you ever witnessed a fatal accident as it happened? Do you know the color of our brain spilled onto the road? Pink and it look like smashed watermelon! I often drove inside the Smart Tunnel. Its speed limit is 50 or 60kph yet cars are speeding more than 100kph and some are also without their headlights on! Should we be good citizens and follow the limit and caused chain collision? So, I have no choice but to driove above the limit but not that high. |

QUOTE(drsmallkid @ Mar 6 2017, 12:20 PM) Just got my first 1000KM service, hopefully my fuel drinker of 8.6km/L gets better after this!! Hi, want to know whether the screen wash and petrol treatment are free? I didn't get these 2 items for my car 1st service in SC Chan Sow Lin, KL. The SA didn't mentioned them, he only asked whether I wanted to upgrade the oil which I declined.1)Is all the items and pricing standard? -Oil filter RM13.93 -ScreenWash 300ML RM6.69 -Petrol Treatment RM28 -Gasket-Plug-Oil-Drain RM3.05 -Petronas Semi (10W-40) 4Ltr RM118 (Shouldn't it be cheaper for Service Edar customer, RM100?) Total RM169.67 + RM10.18GST = RM179.85 2)Shouldn't I service at 10k, 20k? How come they asked me to come back at 6k for service? Syntium 3000 SE (5W-30) = fully synthetic Syntium 800 SE (10W-30) = semi-synthetic Syntium 500 SE (15W-40) = mineral-based For the free service, I got Syntium 800 SE 10W30 SN (RM100) + Oil Filter (RM13.93) + Gasket-Plug-Oil (RM3.05). For the next service, my car reminder meter is set at 10K. |

QUOTE(itekderp @ Mar 7 2017, 04:07 PM) Good car! I've no regret getting it.Actually, I wanted to buy Bezza for the advertised FC but wife hated it because it backside tonggek (jutting up)! So, tested the Premium and fall in love with it but found out that it weighted more than 280kg compared with Bezza. For an extra 300cc, Premium needs to carry one quarter of a tonne more! Lagi teruk, in the same B segment Vios and City are lighter by 100kg but their prices are much heavier. If other companies can make their cars light, Proton can only produce baby elephant??? If I am not mistaken, the Power to Weight Ratio has a bearing on the FC. That is, it needs more fuel to move all those extra weigh around. Persona MT is lighter by 55kg compared with Premium! To put it into perspective, against MT, Premium needs to carry 5.5 bags of 10kg rice everyday in the car boot! I think FC wise, among the Persona variants, MT would be a better option. As for me, I bought the Std (lighter by 35kg) because after driving manual for so long, it would be nice to have a change. Power to Weight Ratio wise (please let me know if I'm wrong), Persona FC won't be as good as others. So, keep an eye on the Eco Light to get better FC. |

QUOTE(tenchi0205 @ Mar 7 2017, 09:26 PM) If I not yet reach 10k KM for the second service, but the period set by the service center during 1st service is 13 May. It is stated in the Warranty & Service booklet that periodical service maintenance is done at an interval of 10k KM or within 6 months (whichever occurs first). So I can go service after 13 May even my mileage not yet reach 10k KM also? I heard some owner can't use the free service voucher (3 yrs free service) if the mileage not yet reach 10k KM, is that true? I did asked the salesrep when I booked the car because I know mine can't reach 10k KM within 6 months. My 1st service is done at only 600km and that after I purposely made a round trip to Melaka to put in more mileage to run-in the engine before the oil change. Unless it is stated clearly that the 3 years free service voucher cannot be used if mileage didn't reach 10k KM, Proton will be looking for free publicity! |

QUOTE(tat3406 @ Mar 8 2017, 06:47 PM) All about the cost, aluminium part like engine block is more expensive than steel. Proton can use lotus team to design a light weight car but it will not be price below 100k. Axia engine blocks are made with aluminium part (re: Wikipedia).Ya, saga is big let down, I had waiting Saga to come out before purchase persona. Saga still using old generation platform, the safety is not as good as others proton, and no esc for whole range is big mistake. |

QUOTE(drsmallkid @ Mar 7 2017, 10:16 PM) No, the screen wash and Petrol Treatment are not free. Wonder why they gave you 10w-40 Semi. Which SC you went to?After you did your 1000km service, feel any different? Fuel mileage? Mine after they changed to the old 10w-40 Semi, engine feels heavy and sluggished, doesn't rev as easily, gas pedal to rev responses slower. Can't answer you about the car performance after the 1st service because it only traveled short distance. It would be nice to rank the SC as suggested by one of our fellow forumer. QUOTE(Chinifity @ Mar 8 2017, 08:51 PM) Did you guys take the left engine oil from SC after service the car? or persona engine will used up the whole bottle of engine oil for each time service ? I recall the engine oil from the bigger SC come in drums and the oil is pumped directly into the engine. This way there's no wastage especially for the free services. I'm not sure which SC. |
