Hi, I am a noob here. Any sifu can help me with my newly installed TIME internet. Installed some China app on android box to watch China channels. Before moving to new house, using unifi was very smooth to watch. But in new house with TIME 100mbps, lag every 2 seconds. Buffering speed less than 90KB/s. I troubleshoot by trying installing android box with VPN trial version, buffering jump up very smooth and blazing fast. So confirm not TIME speed issue but is their throttling which I have no knowledge of.
So the problem is I don’t want to pay VPN. So any Sifu knows how to solve this? Tv mix mecool m8s pro L. TIME router ec230.
ISPs, services, governments, etc have been known to throttle or restrict access to certain services. I won't go into more detail since you are talking about illegal stuffs here..plus China app and China channels. If you've done the necessary such as.. Using a decent ethernet cable, changed default DNS settings to more favorable one and ensuring a healthy home network. Still have painful buffering that only goes away with the VPN? Unfortunately, you either have to find another, more compatible source or keep paying for the VPN. Welcome to the world of cord cutting.

Hi. If my tv can't support Dolby vision but use Nvidia shield to play Netflix DV, will the DV quality display on my non DV tv?
Then, for Dolby Atmos, with Nvidia shield I don't need avr with Dolby Atmos right?
Nope.. Similarly with HDR10.. The extra data will simply be discarded. You can only see the benefits on a DV/HDR10 equipped TV.
Same thing with Dolby Atmos...You need accompanying hardware (speaker amounts AND placement too) to be able to experience it. Be it a HT, Soundbar or AVR with dedicated speakers, etc,
But if you are asking if you must have capable hardware before being able to play a UHD + DV/HDR10 + Dolby Atmos file? As example...Nope, you can still play the file smoothly. Thing is, you won't get the enhanced picture and audio quality contained in the file. Usually, the experience will be downgraded. Example, say yours is just a UHD TV and DD audio equipment. Then you'll only get UHD + core Dolby audio. The rest is discarded as can't be harnessed.
