This MeCool is unrooted?

The worst about illegal iptv is esp when u 6mth downpayment for cheaper then suddenly stop working.. waste $$$ (happened for my h u a t 8 8)

Anyone using x96 mini.. Jz arrived... YouTube seems OK.. But I tried few add-ons with western movie seems keep buffering... Any idea to improve? Internet seems OK cause YouTube no buffer.. Some Chinese add-ons seems OK as well... Wonder if free vpn from Google play can solve the problem..

So I received the Mecool M8S Pro L and this is me putting it through a couple real world tests. I don't care much for Antutu scores or other bench-marking software. Good to narrow down devices. But real world tests are where the device tells what it can do.

Device speed is quite fast..Boots up and powers down quick. There's no power button on the box itself. So once plugged in, it auto-powers on. Good thing is, the power button on the remote can send it to sleep mode and resume as well. It can also be set to restart/shutdown the box. These are done with just one key press. Unlike in the Minix Neo U1 + A2 remote, pressing and holding only brings up to option to shutdown the device. Blue led switches to red (same in sleep mode). I assume this is so indicate it's still receiving power and open to receiving IR command from the remote to power back on. Pressing the power button again powers up the device. So good. Included basic IR remote is okay for basic navigation and keyboard entering. It operates via IR and not wireless. So line of sight only. Mouse function is poor cuz it's not an air mouse type. Have to hold down directional buttons to move the cursor around. Okay lah, if you don't mind, but I advise getting a separate better all-in-one airmouse/remote instead. I used the Minix Neo A2 Lite with it and all's good.

*Installed Root Checker by Joeykrim: Says "Root access is properly installed on this device!.. However, upon installing an Ad blocking app that requires root, the app reports that su binary could not be found.. So i doubt it's rooted or that it's hidden so well.
*Latest Kodi (Krypton V17.6) works and can be installed/updated directly from the Android TV Play Store.
*Using Kodi.. BluRay files I threw at it played flawlessly.. Including UHD x265 10bit HDR files. Fast forward & Rewind was a breeze too.. Device instantly caught on and chugged along nicely. HDMI passthrough works and I'm able to get at least Dolby Digital on my HTS speakers.

I'm still putting it through it's paces.. So let me know if there's any apps or service you want tested. Else, so far so good.. I'm impressed by this RM2xx device. Some images below.

This is a good box to substitute Minix U1. Have you tried UniFi TV? I remember you are using UniFi, so should have UniFi TV account right?

As for Astro Go, since it can be installed and if free channels work, premium channels will work too.

recently i got hold of old model of apple tv 3...
but the problems is... this device cannot install apps
can only use airplay to cast content...

youtube netflix on my android tv aldy hv...
other than this what else can i do with it...

Just put back in your home museum. This is 6 years ago (5 years for rev. A) product. What you expect. Lol

You should thanks it still can use for Netflix (1080p), Amazon Prime Video (added in last update) and iTunes movies for a 5/6 years ago product.

Try side load using xcode with mac. I dunno I don't have mac to test. Haha.

Apple TV 1 (11 years) and 2 (8 years) did nothing now except playback your existing store movies and cannot reset, once reset it can't do anything.

It's definitely a good box.. Yeah, able to login and browse the app.. Unfortunately, I'm unable to play premium Unifi TV channels either through the Phone or Tablet version.. I downloaded latest apks from apkpure's website..
"Playback error due to some problem with the device (111). Please try again or call 100"

For some stupid reason.. TV1 & TV2 plays instantly.. Rest throws the error above.. Running TM.APAD.7.8.14

Dunno.. Booted up for the first time and been like this. I tried checking for a newer firmware via OTA but it fails after trying to check..reporting "Check Failed!Check Your OTA Server Agent"..

Edit: Currently running firmware version M8S PRO L-userdebug 7.1.2 NHG47L-20180316.143701.V0213 and it seems stable.. Been using non-stop for couple hours now.. No force quits or sluggishness..etc.. What firmware version running on yours? Can check OTA successfully?

Not fully working on mine.. What type and version running on yours?

For my box I find FreeFlixHQ works better compared to Terrarium using stock remote

Yeah.. I remember you received an update. Just thought that since I couldn't see any and so should have been the latest.. Gotta hunt down this latest firmware.. Should solve the OTA issue as well.. Will update.. Thanks.
